Our Family
Saturday, November 12, 2011
Hello everyone, its been so long since I was able to update the blog. I have attempted so many times but never get to finish uploading or writing. This is a little update of our crazy lives.
The past 2 months have been very trying on us. The girls have had a total of 6 ear infections, 2 cases of strep, 5 colds and numerous fevers. I have never had my kids so sick this often. If Haley comes home sick, 2 days later Leah is sick and then poor Macie gets sick on default. It's been very rough. Thankfully, I have only caught whatever bug 1 time and not full force. I am waiting though. Dave has gotten sick 1 time as well.
Haley is doing really good in kindergarten. We had her first conference last month and her teacher said she was a breath of fresh air. Haley is quiet in class and got to pick who she got to sit by. She of course picked her friend Kennady. They became really good friends over the summer and continue to be great friends now in kindergarten. Haley scored very high on the Ohio reading test. She missed 1 point out of 30. I have never been so proud of her. She is excelling so well in school and now reading short books to us. It's amazing. I told her by her 6 birthday she would be reading and I was right. She turned 6 on October 8th. We had a family party and then the next day she had her very first friend party. She had a varitey of girls come a few from preschool, 2 from kindergarten, and a few friends of mine daughters. We had such a good time. Each girl was dressed up as a princess. This year Haley is taking 4 dance classes. Tap, jazz, ballet and gymnastics. She is so excited her friend Aylssa is now in her class. I worked with her mom at the bank so I am even more excited I can see Carissa every week for adult convo! She is loving dance so much still. She practices at home and then tries to teach her daddy. It's so cute. She is the biggest help with the littles ones. I feel like some days she is so grown up b/c of how she looks after he sisters or helps me with Macie. She is an amazing little girl. I am so proud of her.
Leah is almost 3 now. She started school at Fairhaven last month. She is in the early intervention and goes 2 days a week for 5 1/2 hours. It was a very big adjustment for me. I never sent any of my kids to daycare or anything at this age. So, to leave her for this amount of time is very hard with strangers practically. I haven't posted this but in June Leah was diagnosed on the autism spectrum. It was a very heartbreaking thing for Dave and I to hear. We knew things were quite right with her and this was our worst fear. She has come a long way though in the past few months. She is now talking. She was barely saying any words at all. She is now repeating things she hears and can say almost everything...when she wants to. Her social skills are still lacking a lot. She will interact with our family and certains outside but most of the time not wanting to be around anyone. Her school is now helping her with this. She is in the 2 year old classroom that has no non social kids present a the time. Her teacher is amazing, her OT and Speech Therapist our fabulous. I can not express how happy I am with this school so far. I am even happier that Leah gets to stay there until June in her classroom and then move to preschool in September there. She will go through some evaluations to make sure she is still qualified but on speech alone we know she will. We have also been experiencing major sleep issues again with her. She will sleep 5 hours at night then be up for 2-3 hours. It is disrupting our entire household. Her neurological doctor told us to try melatonia. It worked for the first week but seems to now be working now. We are at loss what to do and our walking zombies most days. It's been very difficult, but I love her. I wouldn't change her for the world. I can see progress everyday with her but very very little. She tries our patience to the max but makes us laugh like we haven't laughed before. It's going to be a very long road with her and we are not sure what we are up against. That is the scary thing. NOT KNOWING...
Macie is such a sunshine to my day. She is a wonderful baby. It's amazing how we knew life without her. She is now 7 months. She was 28 1/2 inches and 18 lbs 12 oz's at her 6 month appt. She is now on all soilds foods and has loved everything. I just gave her banana puffs for the first time yesterday (11/11/11) She was a little weirded out by them lol. She loves her daddy and grandma. Everytime she seems them huge smiles and wiggly to get to them. She just cut her first tooth last sunday. It's taking it's good old time to come in. She is now sitting up to. It's probably her favorite thing to do now. She loves to be a big baby and playn with her toys on the floor. She love playing with Haley. They laugh so much together. She watches Leah and almost yells at her to look at her. She got mad at her the other day for taking a puzzle piece she was holding. I think Leah will have a run for her money whenever Macie is mobile. She isn't gonna take any crap lol. We are also watching Macie very closely and doing monthly evaluations on her to make sure she is hitting her goals. I am terrified that Macie going to be like Leah. Right now she is off the charts with her goals, but so was Leah. Only time will tell but I am hoping and praying that she is okay. We love her so much and she is such a good baby.
Well that is our little update..I will try to post some random pictures soon.

Feels like a deployment but not
Dave went to Houston for training for 2 weeks. He left last sunday and will return on the 25th. I have very mixed emotions on this trip. On the positive side, he is training to make almost $10 more dollars an hour. But, then he's gone for 2 weeks and I am by myself with our kids. Not that I don't do most of it anyway, b/c I am home all the time, but it's just frustrating. I was a Navy wife for 6 years, and a Navy mom for 5 of those 6 years. I can do the going away, but never have done it with 3 kids. Thank goodness we are back in Ohio though. If we were in Va and I had no mommy around I would be crying a river!! lol

5 month old
Macie turned 5 months old last week. She is still the most loveable baby. She tried oatmeal cereal last week for the first time and then just tried carrots on monday. She loves them all so far. I think she likes the carrots better then the cereal. I am giving her carrots at lunch and dinner time is for cereal. I am giving her a different meal schedule then I did the other girls. I want to see if
this will help her continue to sleep well. Here is some stats on my baby girl
She was 16 lbs 12 oz's last thursday.
She just had brochollitis and had to have an inhaler for 5 days. Thank goodness she is doing well!
Size two diapers for baby
She can roll both ways..but has only rolled from back to front 1 time.
She loves her kick toy. The same one both Haley and Leah played with.
She is growing so quickly out of her 3-6 months clothes. I have put a lot of 6-9 months clothes already on her.
She barely takes the pacifier. It's so odd b/c both Haley and Leah loved theirs and had to have their's to sleep. I don't ever put Macie to bed with one.
She loves her rattles and anything she can hold onto with her little hands.
Loves to put all things in her mouth. If it's in her hands it goes to the mouth.
Smiles and smiles all the time. Laughs at me to all the time and her sisters.
Loves being outside and watching the trees and leaves.
She still sleeps with us in our room but will soon be changing to her room once we get it ready. ( I think I have been stalling long enough.)
That's our baby!!!

Macie's first Rice Cereal
I was denying this moment for a while and I knew I had to do it sooner or later. I don't know why I didn't want to feed her cereal yet. I guess I didn't want her to grow up yet lol. So, I decided yesterday would be the day. She did absoutely wonderful!! She loved it. She smiled and laughed the entire time I was giving it to her. We have a video but I can never get them to download. Dave was taking pictures has he was video taping so me taking the spoon away is in one of them. I am going to feed her cereal at a different time then when I feed the Haley and Leah. I always gave it before she went to bed, but I think I'll do dinner time then just a bottle before bed. I want to change it up and see if the sleeping still goes well. I think that is why I didn't want to give her cereal to jinxed her sleeping through the night. I will do anything for sleep!! lol

1stDay of kindergarten!!!!
Haley had a great 1st day of kindergarten. It started off crazy! We went and waited for the bus at 11:15 and the bus didn't come till 1:05! School starts at 12:30. She had a good time though waiting. She played with her friend Kennedy, played with Macie and Leah. The mean time, Leah went in with mom and fell asleep on the couch and then Macie fell asleep. Both the little ones took naps while we waited. When she saw the bus coming all the waiting went away and she was so excited!! The bus driver did her hand signal and a helper came out and walked her to the bus. She has to go in front of the bus to go on the bus but not on the way back. When she got off the bus in the afternoon, she said she LOVES kindergarten!!! She can't wait to go back everyday!

1st Day of Soccer
Haley began her first sport at the end of July. I wasn't sure how she would like soccer. She is a total girlie girl. Not much for running or aggressiveness..but she loves it!! I'm so happy she does. She really wanted to play and we said sure, we support anything she would like to do sport/dance wise. Her team is called the Flames. Her first Kennady is on it so she already knew someone. Her dad is actually the coach to. Her first game is satuday. If you ask her she say's she's a "Defender!" The coach put her at defender the first practice and she insists that is what she is. GO FLAMES!!!!

Macie @ 3 months old
Macie is doing wonderful! She is a n amazing baby. She is happy and just a joy to be around. I know she is almost 4 months, but here is a little update on her 3 month progress.
- She is in size 1 diapers.
- She eats b/t 5-6 oz bottles..3-4 breastmilk bottles and 2-3 formula bottles. The formula bottles are 6 oz ones right before bedtime and the 1st one in the morning.
- She is sleeping very well at night. I'm waiting for the teething process to start and then I will be back to my up in the middle of the night.
-She rolled over for the first time at 3 1/2 months. She was in her playpen and I went to get her bottle. She was screaming and there she was on her back! Since then she has done it about 5 times. This is about a month earlier then both girls did.
-She is trying to roll from back to tummy but her little head is getting in the way.
-She is now laughing. It's a real soft quiet laugh.
-She loves to smile at you.
=We started peek a boo with her and she loves it.
-She is still sleeping with us at night but soon she will be to big for her bassinet. I am keeping her there as long as possible.
-She loves outdoors. She is a people watcher and loves to watch anything.
That's out baby!!!

My girls
We have had a good summe so far. The girls have been enjoying playing outside and in the pool of course. We started to potty train Leah. We are still doing that. It's coming along very slowly. The lack of communication is defintely going to make it harder. The girls though are enjoying their summer. Haley is starting kindergarten in 3 weeks! It's amazing how time is flying.
Our pool
We have been having a blast in our pool all summer. The pool is perfect for both the bigger girls. Haley is now swimming without floaties and putting her head in the water. She just got done with her swim lessons and progressed so much since day 1. Leah is swimming with her floaties and her yellow float all by herself. She went from screaming not to go in the water to now jumping off the ladder herself! It's amazing the transformation of the two girls this summer. I think Dave and I are enjoying the pool just as much as them.

Little Accident
We had a little accident last weds. Haley was hugging Leah and then Leah moved her head and bumped Haley right in the mouth. Her 1 front tooth was already really loose and the other one well..got looser. I took her to the dentist (mind you 3 dentist and 1 call to the ped dr later). He said they had to come out. My poor baby first had numbing cream and it didn't work. Them they had to give her a shot of novicaine
. It wasn't all the way numb either and he pulled them both. I never saw her in so much pain before. I was in tears myself! For all that she got a handful of change from the dentist, 2 prizes, and 2 new toys from Toys R Us. I felt so horrible after I had to get her toys! She picked a huge unicorn and a little stegasaurus. I hope we don't have to go through this again!!

My little Helper
Haley has become such a great helper to me since Macie was born. She has defintely embraced the roll of "biggest" sister. I sometimes don't know what I would do without her!! She helps me put Macie's pacifier in her mouth when she is crying and I am doing something and can't get to her right away. She gets Leah out of trouble every 5 minutes lol. She helps change Leah's diaper and get things out of her mouth that she so like to eat STILL!! She feeds jersey and gives her water and even lets her in and out of the house. She feeds her own fish 2 times a day. She loves to help push the stroller and hold Macie whenever she can. She is my little mommy! She loves being a big sister and a big help to me!

Sleeping Beauties
Here's my three beautiful girls sleeping peacefully. Yes, Leah is on her floor. We move her almost everynight once she's asleep to her bed. Leah is no longer on her pacifier either. It's been about a month or so now I think? We lost them all so there it goes! Haley loves to sleep with her kitty. He's been the choosen stuffed animal for the past two months. She also still has her music box. I can't seem to get her to stop sleeping with it. I guess it could be worse right?
Macie baby is so comfy still in her bassinet. I love having her next to me at night. She is very snug as a bug in a run in there.
Blonde Hair and Blue Eyes
Almost everyday I look at my little Leah and I am amazed at her. It's the blonde hair and blues that amazes me. I wonder how and the world did Dave and I get a blonde hair baby? We use to joke about it all the time about having a blonde haired kid..and here she is. It's amazing what genetics can do. She is defintely a joy in our lives. We never know what this little girl will do. She is the kid that they make the warning labels for. She is not quite two and half. Here are her stats
26 lbs and 34 1/2 inches. I believe Haley probably out weighed Leah by like 6 lbs at this point! Looks like Leah is going to have her daddy's body type. I look at this little girl and all I can think of is how much I love her. She is so active and loves loves playing with anything! Her new favorite toy is Elmo and Zoey and playing with Barbies, babies and loves books still. She still likes to eat. Her tastes are changing a bit, getting slightly more picky, but still loves her meat. She out ate me with pork tenderloin last week! I can't wait to see what Leah will do next :)

Macie's 2 month appt.
Macie's stats for her 2 month appt
12 lbs 6 oz's = 80th %
24 3/4 inches - 100%
Not sure what the head was I don't remember but it was 50th % I do remember.
Her appt went well. She is actually bigger then both girls were at this point! She weighed .6 oz's less then them to. So crazy! Leah was only 11 lbs 24 inches...Haley was 12 lbs 4 oz's and 24 inches. So crazy they were all so close in height. Leah is still a skinny mini lol. Macie recieved all her normal 2 month shots and the roto virus that is oral. My little baby sucked it down like it was food. Love her!!!! Dr. Guru said she was doing well but to do more tummy time to prevent a flat head. Also she wheezes a little bit here and there. He said it was the wind pipe and trachea moving around that it should go away at 6 months. He said he'll just watch it to make sure it's good. She did great though. Doing all the normal 2 month old things :) We love her so much!!
