Crazy Haley!

Last night, I was trying to put Haley's pj's on before American Idol came on. I got her clothes off and then she took off! She was running around the entire family room like a wild child. It was hilarious! It took seriously 20 minutes to pin her down to put clothes on her. We were afraid she would get cold. She looks so big to be in diapers still. She was having a great time though.

New Bookcase

Here is the new bookcase we got Haley on Saturday. Well, it's a Valentine's present from Grandma V. I love it. I couldn't stand all her books just being in a toy bin. It was getting out of hand. Haley loves books. We read at least 10 to 15 books a day. Sometimes, it's the same one's over and over. She'll bring me one book and I'll read it and then bring Dave the same book to read right after I just read it. She had a field day after all her books were set up in the bookcase. She went right over and got like 1/2 of them out of it haha. It doesn't look like she has a lot of books, but I think she does. She has even begun to "read" them on her own. She'll remember parts of the story and say it to herself while she looks at the pictures. What can I say she amazes me every day. Today she brought up a leapster reading book ( it goes in her leapster reader) and wanted me to read it. Well, it's an ABC book. So, I asked her what every letter was and she told me. The only one she needed help for some reason was X. She called it K haha. Then she takes the book and asks me all the letters. Just like I had just did to her haha. Just to let everyone know, I got the X right haha. Haley knows all her colors to. Today she learned the color gray. She knows all the primary colors. So, that was a new color to learn. Her new thing also is to count everything. She will bring a book over and count all the mice in it for example. It's very fun to see her do these things. She knows how to count from 1 to 20. She skips 13 and 16 occasionaly though. Who needs those numbers anyway. I have been trying to get her to do her ABC's now for months, but can't get them. She'll go ABCDEF...LMN
OP...sometimes she'll do the latter half, but not normally. Oh yeah, I also weighed her on Saturday. She weighs 29lbs 2 oz's and she is 37 inches tall. She gained about a 1lbs and 1/2 inch since her 2 year check up.

Watching Emily

Yesterday, I watched Emily for Lindsay in the morning. She had a dr's appt, so I watched Emily from 7:30 to 10:30. It went pretty good. Haley was still sleeping when Emily came. She heard her though right away on the monitor and got up so quick and was like "Haley, awake!" She ran to the steps and fell trying to get up them. Then was like "opps, Emmy, Emmy fall down." haha. It was hilarious. I let Emily go into Haley's room first. Haley was so excited to see her. I hadn't told her we were watching Emily yesterday. She was jumping up and down and gave her a big hug. They ate their breakfast at the princess table and played around. Emily did a huge #2 which she loves to do at my house haha. So, it was Haley's bath day so I gave them both a bubble bath. Got them dressed and they played some more. They had a morning snack of apple and sliced cheese. They played with books, babies, strollers, the barn and dollhouse. It was a nice morning. Emily didn't want to leave and gave poor Lindsay another headache about it. I just told Emily, we seriously aren't that cool haha. Overall, had a fun time. I was totally exhausted afterwards and my gracious husband let me nap a bit. ( I hadn't slept good though for the last two days. ) What a nice husband he is, sometimes haha. :)

Basket fun!

Haley's just being her normal silly self. She's always getting into something, or trying to help me do something. This daughter of mine wants to help me fold clothes! I will defintely remember this when she gets older and won't fold her own haha. She will come over and say "mommy, I help you?" I have tried to teach her how to fold, but she kind of just rolls everything up and puts it in the basket. Grandma bought Haley a new bookcase for all of her books downstairs to organize them. We got that today. She was right over with Dave trying to "help" put it together. She even knew what a screwdriver and hammer were. I give "Handy Manny" the credit for that one. haha. We tried last week to really try to potty train Haley in the mornings. Well, I would have her in underwear all morning until we would get dressed and ready to go. She did great the first 2 days. Went 3 hours both days and peed on the potty 1 time. The second day was a disaster! She pooped and peed in her elmo underwear. It was horrible. I'll leave that one at that. Then the last day she held everything for 3 1/2 hours, and the moment I put a diaper back on her, she peed. It's very frustrating process. She isn't really interested in the potty yet. I can't force her to go either. So, we are going to wait a while later. I might try maybe middle of next month again. I just feel 2 1/2 is inching nearer. I heard the average age is 2 1/2 but Lindsay just told me 3 is now. So, bottom line, I'm not stressing to much just yet haha.

It's been a while..

I didn't realize how long it's been since I updated Haley's website. Yikes! It's been like 10 days today. It's been a long two weeks. I'm glad they are over with. Haley is doing great. She's her happy chipper self. She's always doing something to make us laugh. Always talking and talking and more talking. We waited so long to have her talk, sometimes we want her to stop (in a good way of course). Dave's been working alot, so it's just me and Haley. On his days off, we all try to spend as much time as possible together. Haley is still into putting her shoes on and running around the hosue with them. She's been "tap" dancing all over the place. This was taken I think last week.

Bad hair day

Sunday morning, I had to run out to the store and get a few things. Dave gave Haley a bath and got her dressed. It's always fun to see what she ends up in if he dresses her. I always hope it matches at least. She refused to let her hair get dried, so this is what I came home to. haha. Her hair was everywhere. She is also in this phase again of wearing her princess boats that are a size 5 and she is in a size 7 1/2 to 8. I can't believe she can get them on her feet!! She is having fun that is all the matters I guess. She runs around in them all day long. Last night, we had take them off before she went to bed.

Oh yeah, for everyone who told me to get a battery powered toothbrush, guess what! Haley is scared of it! I got her a Dora one, thinking Oh she'll love it. Well, I was wrong. She I turned it on and now she won't put it in her mouth! Last night she refused to brush her teeth even with her Elmo one. Ug, I just feel like she'll get cavities or something. I'm so worried!! That is been our man thing this week is brushing her teeth. She doesn't do a good job on her own and she won't let me do it. It's so frustrating. It seems like everything is difficult anymore. One thing I must say with all the difficulty, she is a very well behaved 2 year old. At least I'm not worrying about tantrums. If she does cry, it's for like a minute.

Mega Blocks

On Saturday morning, we started playing with Haley's mega blocks. They game with these cards that you can build different things. It says a step by step way how to build it. Well, there ist his fun boat I wanted to build for her. I start to build it and I couldn't get past step 1 ! haha. I told Dave to help me. So, he starts to build it. It was hard! Haley was trying to help out best she could haha. When Dave was done, she came over and it fell apart! It was done for like 2 seconds haha. It was fun though. I can't believe those blocks are for 1 + though. I think that might be a bit hard for them to build. J/k!

Nothing Working..

Okay, my New Year's resolution was to stop drinking coffee and to really start potty training Haley. Well, I have not stuck to either of them. I'm terrible! Anyway, for the past couple of weeks I ask Haley if she wants to go potty. She has sat on it a total of like 3 times maybe. She has gone zero. It's getting to be frustrating again. I thought today she might want to wear some underwear. She has every character pair of underwear under the moon. Well, she refused. I couldn't believe it. I guess I should just sum it up to her not being ready still. I keep thinking she'll be 2 1/2 in April. I hope to God she wants to try by then. Marna tells me that Abigail is up to 2 pull up's a day. I guess that is why I feel pressured now. I shouldn't I know. I guess I just want Haley to excel in everything. I need to stop comparing Haley to other people's children. I have a really hard time with that. She will do it when she's ready. Today she was like no underwear, my diaper! She loves her diapers still. I guess I can't blame her. You can do your business whenever and wherever you want. Why give them up haha. I defintely agree with whoever told me that they all do there own things at different times. Like right now, Haley is a talking machine. She talks and talks and talks. She is always saying "Watch this Mommy or Daddy!" She always does something silly. She knows words that I didn't even know she knew. She said to my mom today "Bye grandma, see you later, aligator!!" haha. Seriously, she must of picked that up from us haha. She plays with her dollhouse and has the biggest imagination now. She talks to the people and makes them do things. Like, she was saying today, "Oh, you want to watch TV, oh everyone wants to watch TV." Meaning, her dollhouse people. She's always building things with her princess puzzle, like a bridge or a castle. What an imagination already. I guess the potty training will come. Okay, I wanted to get things off my chest and writing is the best way to. Sorry, for the complaining...

Kindness of Strangers

Today I decided to run to the small Kmart like 3 minutes away from my house. I wanted to buy Dave some more thermal shirts for work and some cheap water my mom was telling me about. I get there and asked Haley if she wanted her stroller or cart. She said stroller. I had opened her door and so I closed it to get to the trunk. Well, I had put my purse down with my keys in it! I locked Haley and my keys in the car! I was so scared. I started having almost panic attack. I saw some random lady and asked for her phone. After I asked, I didn't even know who to call. I called Dave, knowing he wouldn't answer. Then my mom and it was busy. I was quickly becoming very very panic. The lady was like let me call a locksmith I know. The guy was all the way in Hampton. So, being the really nice lady she was, she went into Kmart and they called the emergency lockout people. She waited with me (even though she had to be at work soon) and some other older lady waited to. The older lady though she could use an umbrella to open up the door. I had my back windows on the van vented. I told her there is no way it would reach. Haley was getting scared. I think she was picking up on me being so scared. I kept asking if she could push the red button to get out of her carseat. She was trying, but no luck. If she could of, then she could of gotten my keys and handed them to me. It was such a horrible experience. The one lady made me feel better. She said she did the samething though with a 2 and 3 year old in the car. It seemed like it took an enternity for them to come, but the VA Beach Fire Department came in there huge fire truck. It took about 10 minutes for them to come and 3 minutes to open it. Haley was a VERY big girl the whole time. She didn't even cry when the guys opened the door. I thought she would be scared out of her mind. I lifted her up and gave a huge hug. The lady made sure she was okay to. I never got the lady or the older ladies name, but I thanked them numerous times. I don't know what I would of done if it wasn't for the kindness of that stranger. I couldn't of left Haley by herself. I was holding Haley and she looked up at the truck and said "Fire Truck!" She was so excited to see one. She waved at it when it went by. I ended up going into Kmart and buying when I had to buy. I don't know why I did, but I did. I felt like everyone was looking at me. I went home though quickly. I called my mom and told her what happened, but no one else knows. I'm not sure how I'll break it to Dave. He'll probably forbid me from driving again haha. J/k. He'll glad we are alright. I'm totally exhausted now from this experience. I just put Haley down for a nap and I'm hoping I can lay down to. I need to just get this jitters to go away. This will defintely be something I will have to tell Haley when she's older. I'm almost glad she didn't get out of her carseat now that I think about it. I then would have to worry about her getting out all the time by herself. Ug, another worry!!!

Babysitting Abigail

Today Marna called around 10 and asked if I could help her out of a bind. She had to go show some houses in Portsmouth and wanted to know if I could watch Abigail for her for a couple of hours. I said sure! So, she brought Abigail over around 11. I took the girls to the park behind the houses across the street. They had so much fun! They held hands walking for a bit. Abigail wanted to run and shot out to the swings. For a little thing, she is fast! Haley was doing her little waddle run haha. They swang a bit, then played on the animals. I was kind of nervous with both of them on the jungle gym. I kind of had them stay away from that. It was almost Abigails nap time, so I wanted to get back to the house. Haley did not want to leave. She threw a tantrum! I was kind of shocked. She normally doesn't do it. I'm sure its the first of many to come. I had to literally pick her up and hold her like a baby to get her to stop wiggling to walk home. She was okay after like a 2 minutes. She wanted back home holding Abigails hand. I took them into the backyard and they played chalk and on Haley's swingset for a little bit long. They had lunch and Abigail laid down for her nap. She was out! It must be that pack in play, because Emily sleeps really well in it to. I put Haley up at 2 and she was out to. The fresh air really did both of the girls good. Marna called and was going to pay me for watching Abigail. I told her we can trade off. She said she would watch Haley for me on Friday b/c Dave and I have a State Farm appointment. It will be much easier not taking Haley then taking her.

Cheerleader Haley

Last night, we watched Ohio State lose. Well, sort of. I'm not a football fan at all, so I was sort of watching and the other time laughing at Haley. She wanted to wear Dave's new OSU hat. She got the pom pom out that she had when Dave came home from deployment. She was going "Go Buckeyes!" I remembered my mom got her a chearleading outfit for next summer. It has Elmo on it. So, I put it on her. She had a fun time in it. I was trying to show her how to move her arms and stuff, but she didn't understand.

Jersey

I think Jersey was cold or something a couple of days ago when I took this picture. I have never seen her just get up and lay on Haley's couch. Haley loves Jersey, but when it comes to licking and her things, she wants Jersey to mind her own business haha. So, I showed Haley that Jersey was on her couch she didn't like it to much. I told Haley to tell Daddy later on in the night what Jersey did on her couch and she turns and say's "Jersey farted, right here." She points to her couch. I cracked up! Where do they come up with these things!!

Back to Mom's

Our third stop, back to mom's again. We had another Christmas dinner around 3 o'clock. Haley had fallen asleep in the car and took a nap until dinner was done. We woke her up around 3:30 so everyone could see her. She got up just in time for desert haha. She won't eat real food, or let's say try real food, so I gave her some cake. She ate her food later on. Mom had my grandparents, brother, Aunt Diane and Uncle Rich over. Haley got more presents to. My brother got her a princess table and chairs, my grandparents gave us all money and got Haley a potty baby doll, and my aunt and uncle got her a baby pooh bear and clothes. Haley just loves getting presents! After everyone left, we went to Dave's Aunt Nancy' and Uncle Bob's house for more food and presents. We went around 6:30. Haley got a Dora and horse from Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bob, a aqua doodle and princess camera from Mike and Jess, a baby doll from Bob and Angie and another baby doll from Aunt Donna and Uncle Bob. We do a drawing with the grownups every year there to. So, I got a purse and wallet from Angie, and Dave got a Redskin's coffee mug and two shot glasses from Becky. It was a very long day. I forgot to bring the camera in there so no pictures. We were all exhausted that night. We had to drive back to Va the next day. That was our Christmas of 2007!

2nd Stop on Christmas

The second place we go to for Christmas is to Dave's sister's Val's. This is the second year she has had Chirstmas dinner. We go around 10:30 and stay till about 1:30. We do presents with his mom, grandparent's, Uncle Dale and sisters. Then we eat dinner around noon. Haley got the game Lucky Ducks from Val and her family. Jaime got her the 25th Anniversary Carebear with the DVD, his grandma got her two outfits, and his mom got her a drawing kit. His uncle Dale got her the fun computer I posted her playing. I got bath and body works stuff, clothes, and we share a gift card from his Uncle Dale. Dave got clothes, golf hat and golf balls. I couldn't eat to much or I wouldn't be hungry for mom's dinner. So, I had a nice little brunch and then off we went again..

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning went rather smoothly. We were nervous that Haley would be a crank ball b/c she went to bed so late the night before. Dave and I were right up at 7:30, and woke up Haley by 7:45. We had a time schedule we had to keep by. We opened presents at 8 and let Haley play till around 9:30. Haley got a ton things. I'll name a few that she got Christmas morning. She got big legos, a barbie car, Mr. Potatohead, clothes, three rooms for her dollhouse from us. Then got a ton of summer clothes, bathing suits, snow white and Belle doll from Grandma. I'm sure there was more, but I can't think right now. Dave got me a digital frame, the Second Season of 90210 ( I love it!!). My mom got me clothes, shampoo and conditioner, earrings. Dave got from me a coat, a hat and slippers. He got a ton of clothes from mom, a really nice OHio State Pull over jacket, an Ohio State hat. We got my mom a digital Frame and web cam so she can see her "baby" all the time. It was a nice Christmas morning.
