Tummy time and some help

We have been trying to do some tummy time everyday for Leah. Today Haley was trying to encourage Leah with letting her lay on her giraffe blanket. This is a big deal for Haley. She has to have her giraffe blanket everywhere. My mom snuck it in the washer today so it was nice and clean. Haley likes to show Leah how to lay and lift her head up. It's pretty funny. Leah just kind of lays there right now. She tried to lift her head once. I think she just likes layin gon her tummy for now haha.

Farm Fresh Balloon

We had to get out of the house today. I had stayed home for two days striaght. Grandma watched Leah for us while we went out to do some errands. Dave had to get a contact exam so while he was doing that Haley and I ran to Target. I don't know about all of you, but Haley always needs socks. It seems like we lose them or they get so worn out so quickly. So, I went to Target and bought her socks, and she also got a little Jasmine dress up doll with her Uncle Dale's visa gift card she still had money on from Chirstmas. Then we went to Farm Fresh for some groceries. She saw a balloon in the check out line and started crying she wanted one. Haley doesn't normally do that. I was kind like um..what is going on! So, the bagger lady was like "oh does she want a balloon?" So, I was like yes. She named all these colors to Haley and Haley didn't pick any of the colors she named and named white. haha. So, she ended up with a white balloon. She played with it all night!

Animals

Leah discovered the animal mobile in the swing yesterday. It was such a cute and precious face she made when she looked at them. She liked the swing for about 10 minutes yesterday. It was so fun watching her look at the animals.

Playtime!

Almost every morning, Haley and I take Leah up to play in her room with her toys. We lay her on the floor and get out one of her toys. Yesterday morning, we got her kick toy that she kicks and then the toys roll around and play music. I orginally just got it out for her to see the things roll around then she start to kick it on her own and it she was doing it by herself. Haley and I were so happy! Haley loves to help Leah play with her toys of course. She will lay down and show her how to do it. She loves playing with her and I love to watch them play together already.

Grandma time

Mom is loving being here with the girls. She helps out a lot with morning time for me. I do all the nighttime feedings with Leah. I normally will get up with Leah and bring her downstairs for mom to have some "grandma time" with her and she lets me go back to sleep for an hour or two. Then Haley will be up to and she gets her time with her to. It's working out really well. That way I'm not a total zombie all day long and cranky. I don't even need a nap most days. I do miss those naps though.

4 weeks old

Leah is now 4 weeks old. She is getting so big. At her weight check last monday, she was 9 lbs even. So, thankfully she is gaining her birth weight back and then some. They wanted me to bring her in to make sure she gained the weight back she had lost when she was sick. She is a super long baby though. I'm not sure how long right now but she is already in her 3-6 month sleepers. She still is fitting in her 0-3 clothes though. I think I have another tall kid on my hands. she is starting to coo now. I love it. It sounds like a little cat to me. She is also starting to smile. I don't get to see them to often, but everyone else does! I'm hoping she'll lay one on me here pretty soon. I see slight ones here and there. I want a big grin. She is doing much better in her baths now to. She barely cries anymore and just sits there and wiggles like crazy. She's so cute. She is sleeping really well for me at night to. She normally just wakes up 1 time for about an hour and then goes back to sleep for about 3 to 4 hours and by that time it's morning. She slept through the night last night. I was in shock! I of course was up every hour from 3 to 6 b/c I was worried about her. She did great though. She was a sleepy baby today though.

Randoms

Here's some random shots of Leah and I, Mom and mom and her grandaughters. I think they all came out pretty nice. We even have Jersey in them! Leah's mouth is wide open in the pictures with me for some reason haha. She wasn't crying though I swear! Oh, BTW, I'm actually dressed! I think not getting dressed thing only lasted for the first two weeks haha. I went to Kohl's and got like 6 shirts so now I have some clothes that fit. I need to lose these extra 20 lbs now. I can't stand not having clothes that fit especially jeans!! I miss my jeans so much :(

On the move!

Leah is already moving down on her postioner. We have two so we had stacked them up b/c of her sickness. But, now she's just a little congestioned..anyway..Leah for the past three nights has moved down more than half way on the the postioner. I remember Haley doing this on her's, but not as soon I don't think. Leah is such a wiggle worm! I knew she'd be like this to for how she was in my stomach. Always poking at me and moving around at all hours of the night. She's such an angel!

Haley and Leah

Haley loves to hold her baby sister. Every morning I bring down Leah and she wants to hold her. Leah loves her. She turns her head toward her voice and just stares at her. I really hope they are good friends growing up.

Daddy and Leah

It's been a while since I got a picture of Dave and Leah. He hasn't been in the picture taking mood I guess. Leah loves her daddy already!

The Swing

Thursday we decided to try out the swing with Leah in it, but we didn't have any batteries for the swinging part. So, all day Haley reminded us that we needed "c-batteries" for the swing. We went to the commisary Friday morning and got them. Haley wanted to put them in the swing for Leah. Leah actually liked the swing for a while. She sat in there looking at her animals for about 10 minutes. She's not to content for to long in things. That hopefully will change so we don't have to hold her all the time. For right now, it's fine b/c she's only 3 weeks old.

I'm pooped!

Haley and I played with Leah in her room for a long time yesterday morning. We had her in the moon seat, watching the swinging animals on her mat, tummy time and playing with her little rattles. She was pooped! She feel asleep in the boppy and said "I had a enough!" haha. She's so adorable. She's been pretty fussy lately in the mid afternoon and evenings. We aren't sure what is going on with that. She falls asleep then wakes up 20 minutes later and wants to be held again. We are going to try putting her in her play pin or crib instead of the papasuan (sp) chair to sleep. I think she might sleep better. She slept 5 hours for me straight last night! Got up to feed for 20 minutes and then I laid her down asleep. She woke up within a minute but just laid their moving her arms and legs and fell back to sleep on her own. I was so amazed. That was about 6:30 and she is still sleeping and it's 9:15! Can it be true?

Who's bigger?

It's amazing to think that Haley was just as big as Leah at one point in her life. I really thought Leah looked a lot like Haley, but honestly they don't look much a like at all now. I think that is a good thing though. I want them both to be their own person and no one to mix them up.

Moon Chair

This is the famous moon chair that got Haley to sleep more than half of her first months of life haha. I thought I would try it out with Leah. She liked it! Haley kept putting on the stars that go with it but I had to move them out of the way so I could take a picture. This is Aunt Gina's oneise that she bought for Leah. I love it! Her jeans are a bit big on her, but they are from the neighbor across the street. They gave us some hand me down's from their grandaughter who turned one this month.

Tummy time!

So far, Miss Leah Bogger doesn't like tummy time to much. She is doing really well at holding her head up though whenever we burp her or hold her, but not so much at tummy time.

Me and Leah

Here's a random picture of her and I.

Monday evening

Monday evening we were playing around taking pictures of the girls. We loved how Leah kept looking at Haley and following her with her eyes. She is even looking at her in some of these pictures. She really loves her sister already. She will look right at her when she talks to her.

First Family picture

I didn't realize we didn't take a family picture in the hospital when I had Leah. This picture was taken last weekend before our rough week. Don't mind my pokie dot pants haha. At that point I wasn't getting dressed in clothes unless I had to. I didn't have much that fit. I am though proud to say I have lost 30 lbs already. I think a lot had to do with stress, but it seems to be coming off quickly. Now, if the last 20 will come off as quickly haha.

I love my baby sister

Haley absoutely loves Leah so much. There seems to be no jealousy yet b/t her and Leah at all. I'm so glad to see that. We have had a pretty rough week and to come home to Haley running to us and wanting to see Leah was the best.

Leah's first bath

Friday night, Leah's belly button fell off! We have been waiting for this for a while. The belly button thing kept getting caught in the wires at the hospital. I think that might of helped it along to fall off. So, we gave her first bath on Saturday morning. She screamed a bit, not as much as Haley. I remember Haley screamed her little head off. Leah is a wiggle worm though. She wiggles and wiggles so much. I did a quick bath on her and she smelled like baby afterward. Well, she always smells like baby haha. Her hair was crazy when I was done. She seems to have so much hair. Haley's was alot darker then Leah's but she has just as much as Haley did. I even dressed Leah in a cute little outfit yesterday. Leah is really growing long. She is already growing out of these sleepers I have that are 0-3 months. They are probably smaller ones of 0-3 so Im gonna have to break out the 3-6 ones already.

Leah is home!

Leah came home today! Yeah! I got to the hospital and like within 20 minutes the nurse was their signing our discharge papers. I was so happy. We got her all bundled in her snowsuit and off we went. She is doing pretty good at home. She's been kind of fussy today and very sleepy. I'm hoping it's b/c her belly button was hanging on by a thread tonight and it ended up falling off! It took almost two weeks, but it's off. I cleaned it was alcohol to and Dave thought that might hurt her. I thought that is what your suppose to do right? So, Leah will be getting her first bath tomorrow. I'm so excited. I forgot to clean up the infant tub so I must do that tomorrow so I can bath her. I'm really exhausted so I'm gonna try to feed her and put her down for the night. We are all nervous still about her and trying to watch her still very carefully. We just keep suctioning her nose out every few hours with the saline drops.

The last half hour

Again, while I'm pumping before I go to the hospital I thought I would update the blog. Leah is doing great! She is off her O2 and we are waiting one last half hour to see if she will be off it for 24 hours. She was off it at 8:30 am yesterday so if she makes it till 8:30 today then we are taking our baby home! I'm so happy. I stayed with her for 12 hours during the day yesterday and Dave came at 8 last night and stayed with her during the night. We are really working as a team. It's really nice and seeming to bring us even closer together. He had a rough night b/t 1-3 with her being cranky, but that seems like the time she is up and wanting to be cranky every night. I'm so glad this should be the last night she's away from home. It's been such a trying experience and surreal one. I want to thank everyone that has had us in their thoughts and prays. You guys are all such good friends and you know who you are! I'll update as soon as I can and tell you all what is going on. Thanks again!

Update

While I'm trying to pump and get ready before I leave for the hospital again, I thought I would update. Leah went back on 02 last night at 1:30 am. Her 02 levels were at 88 to 90 and they want them at 92. So, good thing is she's getting really close. When she's awake she's fine, but when she's sleeping is when she Desats a bit and they want them higher then that. So, I'm going to shower and head out here within the next hour. I'm not very religious at all, but if everyone could please pray for my little girl. She's so small and tiny and shouldn't be going through this stuff. I won't be posting any pictures of her in the hopital b/c this is not something I ever want to remember. I did get a good 9 hours of much needed sleep last night. Please pray for Leah..

Leah update

Leah on Sunday was coughing really bad all night long. We decided to take her to the dr's first thing Monday morning. The dr heard fluid in her lungs so put a monitor on her and her O2 level was low. So, they put oxygen on her and decided she needed to go to the hospital. They called an amublance and I road with her to the naval hospital. She had RSV and Flu test done and they were both negative. They diagnosed her with Brontitius. The inflamtion of the brocular tubes. I have been at the hospital morning and night. I have only had 2 hours of sleep the past three nights. Dave is staying up at the hospital tonight with her so I can get some much needed sleep to recover. She was off Oxgyen for 8 hours today but they put her back on b/c her respitory levels were to high. They just took her off again about 2 hours ago. She seems to be doing well so far. They wanted to monitor her with sleeping with the O2 on. So, please pray for her to get better. I never thought in a million years this could happen to my newborn daughter. It's been a very trying time for us right now. I'm emotional mess and physically and mentally exhausted. I'll try to update everyone whenever I can.

Happy 1 week old Leah!

Leah is offically 1 week old to. She is eating great and sleeping great. We just got to get rid of this little cough and some sneezing. She sleeps in our room at night in a cradle my friend Kim let us borrow. I love it. I just roll it to the side of our bed at night and she's right there. It's so nice having this. I didn't have on with Haley. I just had the pack in play which she wouldn't sleep in. So, we moved her to the crib like on day 3. 1 week later Leah is still in our room. She only woke up for 1 hour last night and slept till 8 this morning. I hope Leah continues to be my sleeper. Tonight will be rough b/c I have to listen for Haley and Leah. Mom is to sick to listen for Haley tonight. She's been really helping me out with that. We are still waiting on our birth letter from the hospital for Leah to add her onto our insurance. I'm not sure what is taking so long. We need to get her to be seen for her 2 weeks check up.

Barbie Island Princess

Yesterday, before mom got sick, she ran to Target for us. We needed some few random things. I asked her to pick Haley up something special, but not expensive. She found this Barbie Island Princess dress for $10! I thought it was a steel. These dresses are normally like $20. She loved it of course!

Carolyn and Pete

Carolyn and Pete came to visit yesterday and to see Leah. Of course they loved her! These are my neighbors that have been such a life saver to me the last almost two years we have lived here. From huge spiders to mice to being great friends they have been wonderful!
