Swim Lessons

Haley has been taking swim lessons for the last 2 weeks. I was looking vigorously for some kind of swim lesson in this area. It's really sad that most places don't offer them anymore or they are outrageously priced. Dave's dad belongs to the Wellness Center in Waddell Park and told me the Red Cross comes and does swim lessons every summer. Perfect! 2 weeks for $20! Who could beat that price. Haley was in the preschool swim class and had either Dave or I and occasionally Papa in the pool with her. She improved so much from day 1. She is now jumping into the pool by herself, swimming with the noodle by herself, she learned to swim on her back, kick and dig. The instructors were very helpful and nice. Next year, we want to put her in the same one if we are around here. Haley even got a special card saying she passed preschool swim lessons. We are so proud of her! Go Haley!!

Chicago July2010

We took a trip to Chicago for a job conference for Dave. It was very successful and we can't wait to see what comes out of it. Dave has two second interviews one for a company in Delta, Ohio and one in Columbus. We went to the Navy Pier, the Childrens Museum, swimming in the pool and lots of restaurants. It was a really good time. Haley enjoyed the kingsized bed sleeping with us. But, mommy and Daddy got pretty beat up haha. She likes to roll around. There was a made to order breakfast every day. YUM!! Leah especially enjoyed that. She loves eggs and fruit loops. Haley enjoyed the muffins and the lion fountains. She loved wishing on the wishing well. I overheard one wish for her to have a cat. To bad, mommy isn't a cat person. :( haha. Our hotel was beautiful, but not to kid friendly. The girls loved the swimming pool to. Haley made a little friend at the pool. They had a fun time and Haley learned to swim with just her floaties. I'm sooo proud of her. She did so good. When we went to the Navy Pier we went to the Children's Museum it was so cool. There is so much stuff to do there. The dinosaurs were Haley's favorite and the baby area was Leah's. She loves to look at herself in the mirror. Overall, a good trip. We stopped at Dave's mom's in Michgian on the way back on Monday. Then spent the night and got home for Haley's swim lesson on Tuesday. World wind weekend!

HAPPY 18 MONTHS LEAH!!!

Leah is 18 months today! A year and half of this beautiful, active and loving toddler! Here is some stuff Leah is doing now:

Only saying a few words: DaDa, Go, This, and I love you.

Size 3 diapers still.

Loves to play outside..swing, swim, run through the sprinkler..

Still our best eater..haven't found anything she won't eat.

We think she wants to marry Steve from Blues Clues..she still loves that show.

Sleeping is getting much better.

The darn I teeth are almost all in!! YEah!!!!

Her hair is still blond..we are still wondering if it will go dark.

Always getting into something..climbing is the one big thing she has learned in the two months..and to never leave her alone or she'll get into something haha.

She now hates to sit in the bathtub and insists on standing..not liking that much.

She loves us to sing to her..favorite songs are "Wheels on the Bus, Patty Cake, Itsy Bitsy Spider, and Old McDonald

Happy 18 months old Leah!!!! We love you so much!!

New Sprinkler

My mom got the girls a new sprinkler on Sunday. It's been so hot and unfortunately, we can't open my mom's pool again. So, next best thing is the sprinkler! It's pretty cute. Balls fly out of it and it sprays water all over. Both girls loved it! Leah is my water baby. Literally! She loves the pool, sprinklers, spray..whatever dealing with water..except the bath (this just happened she would rather stand up in it). Haley is very cautious when it comes to swimming but loves the little plastic pool and sprinklers. It's so fun to watch them have so much fun in stuff like this like I use to. I miss being a kid sometimes when it comes to this stuff!

Pittsburgh Zoo

Saturday we went to the Pittsburgh Zoo. We were suppose to meet my cousin, his wife and their son Bryce (who's 1 month older then Leah), but Bryce got sick. So, we decided to go anyway. We had a lot of fun. I was really bracing myself for meltdowns and cranky whiny kids..no such thing! It was 90 degree's and my kids were practically angels. Leah had a small melt down at the very beginning but after that smooth sailing and she didn't have a nap. I let her walk and ride off and on and be carried. Haley LOVED the zoo. She loves animals and this time got her picture taken with an elephant. She even got to touch him. She's so brave!! Haley and Dave rode the carousel at the end of our day, and Leah said for the first time "I Love You" to me. I was so in shock and no one was there to hear it! But, luckily, she's been saying it ever since!!

Both girls got prizes at the end of the trip, Haley got a monkey named baby chimp and Leah got a "wild child" pacifier. I really love we can take family trips now whenever we want! So glad we are Navy free!

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! Dave had a great day. Haley got him a travel coffee mug. Leah got him a grill thermometer and me 1 golf lesson. He was so shocked by that! We also got Papa one to! (Leah wasn't a happy camper that morning...so no pictures with her.)
