Rainy Day

We had a really horrible rainy day all day today. So, I spent the entire day packing and in my pj's haha. Haley did to. I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed with the packing that still has to be done. I didn't mind packing and then having Dave take everything downstairs, load in the van and then him take to the storage. Now, I have to do all this. At least we got a lot done when he was still here. I just took some random shots of the girls today. Haley was sleeping beauty before her bath tonight. She even had the gloves on which she normally passes on. Then little Leah had her jeans on. I had to take a picture of her in them. This outfit is a 3-6 month longsleeved onesie and then 6 month jeans!! I can't believe those jeans fit her perfectly. I can't wait to see how much she weighs and how long they measure her on Monday. Oh, and were supposively suppose to have some snow coming on Sunday night. I'll believe it when I see it.

Park

Yesterday was so beautiful here. It was 70 degree's. In the morning, I took a walk with Haley for about 20 minutes. It kicked my butt. I'm so out of shape. I am going to start walking the treadmill when I get back to my mom's in a little over a week. I really want to get back in shape before Dave comes back. Then we ate lunch and I took a shower. Then Haley and I went to the park while my mom stayed home with Leah. It was warm, but very windy. I'm a very over protective parent if you don't already know. So, I'm not going to risk Leah getting sick so I opted for her to stay home. Haley had a blast though. We were there for about an hour. Kim and Hannah came for about 15 minutes, then Hannah had an accident. She's getting potty trained so not good timing haha. The second picture is Haley on the jungle gym and she climbs up this moutian thing. It gives me a heart attack everytime, but she can do it all by herself. She's such a little adventerous now. I love it!

Leah and Megan

Here is a picture of Leah and Megan. Megan is Lindsay's newest daughter. She was born Jan 2nd less than 24 hours after Leah was born. I never got a picture of the two of them in the hospital like I did Haley and Emily. We met Lindsay for dinner at Ruby Tuesday's with the girls. She's leaving for Ohio Tuesday for a 2 months and we won't see each other for a while. Leah is bigger than Megan length wise, but not weight wise. The both have appts next week so we'll see! Both babies did great at dinner, but the older ones were a different story. Haley and Emily were all over the place went to the bathroom twice together. They just had way to much bent up energy. They hadn't seen each other since last weekend but haven't gotten to play together in so long. They really are great friends. I hope Leah and Megan can be great friends to.

Leah's Mohawk

Okay, so the other night I needed to give Leah a bath. She's had this horrible cradle crap (cap) and I put baby oil in her hair and then shampooed her hair. Well, it seems liked the oil was still in her hair. I started to comb her hair to try to get the cradle crap out. I put it in a mohawk and it stayed b/c it was so oily still. haha. I thought it was pretty funny. My little girl had a mohawk for a while. I got a lot out though combing her hair. It looked like she had dandruff! haha. Poor baby! I know when she gets older she'll probably yell at me for doing that to her.
P.S. Does anyone remember when they got their kids on a certain nap schedule? Like I remember Haley taking like 3 naps a day, but I don't remember when I started her on that. Just curious thanks!

Happy 60th Birthday Mom!

Today my mom turned 60 years old and Leah is 8 weeks old. I just realize I didn't take any picture of Leah b/c she was sleeping this whole time. haha. Today we went out to Olive Garden for mom's birthday lunch. She tried that new shrimp dish. She liked it. I got soup and salad. It was yummy! I made my mom a picture collage. It was pictures of Haley as a baby and up to last weekend when Dave left. I think it turned out well. Haley got mom a flower pin wheel for her flowers, flower cutters, and a flower pot. She even signed her name and Leah's name to the card. Mom's special treat for turning the big 6 -0 was a Cold Stone Creamery cake. She got the midnight chocolate one. It was really good. I don't even usually like chocolate chocolate stuff. Happy birthday mom!

Morning Play time

We have our morning playtime with Leah almost every morning. Haley and I take Leah up to her room and let her play with her animal mat. She is really starting to like it. She smiles and coo's so much now. My friend Marna came over today and Leah was just talking away to her. Marna has three kids and is like isn't this early for her to be doing that? I said she's been doing it for weeks now! I think she's gonna be a talker just like Haley. Haley has been non-stop talking for months now. I think it's gotten worse these last two months. She talks and talks and interupts us when we are talking. It's getting to the point where I have to start saying something to her to not interupt. I want her to learn that it's rude. I know it's going to take a while though. Tuesday, was Haley's last dance class. I was sad for her. Well, it's her last one in Va. She loves her dance class friends. She isn't the best one out there, but she is having lots of fun learning. I'm really thinking about putting her in pre-school to next year. Does everyone know that you have to sign them up super early, like in Nov or Dec. I think that is crazy. I think I might look into them tomorrow or next week while we are still here. I want her to maybe go 2 days a week. She really needs this bet up energy to go to something. She's wild and crazy right now. Just lots of energy. It is probably be cooped up in the house b/c of cold weather. Today it was beautiful here. It was 65 degree's. We took Haley to the park for like 20 minutes. We had a really busy day and couldn't get out there until 5pm so she could only play for a little while. I promised her tomorrow if it was nice we would go back. Oh yeah, the one picture is of Haley climbing the wall. This is how crazy she's been lately!

Chef Haley

Haley decided to be a chef instead of a princess yesterday. She is normally a princess or a bride 75% of the day. She is always dressed up as something. I think those costumes are some of the best things they have for her age. She just loves being someone and using her imagination.

Deployment Feb 2009

Well, today is here. I'm very very upset and sad today. I was up with Leah at 6:30 and decided to go to the ship. Haley woke up super early, so I packed her up and off we went. I got a great parking spot right where I could see Dave man the rails. I got a good picture and video of him. I'm so glad we went to see him 1 last time before he left. Haley waved goodbye to Dave to. It was so sad seeing the ship pull off. I will miss him so much. The last few pictures are of Haley and I at Vista Point and the ship was in the bay and then sailed over the tunnel into the ocean. It was just so surreal that this day is actually here. I can do this though. I'm strong and will be strong for the girls. So now we wait for the days to go by.

ps. Emily, Lindsay and Baby Megan came and sat in our car for a few minutes while the ship was pulling away. Emily and Haley were very upset and Haley gave Emily a hug. It was pretty cute and my heart goes out to both of them. They are old enough now to understand Daddy isn't home. I'm going to do something though with Haley. I'm going to put the amount of M & M's in a jar that Dave will be home and then everyday Haley will eat one. Then she'll see how many our left and that is when Daddy will be home. My neighbor Carolyn gave me that idea. I think it's a good one.

Friday

These pictures were taken a few hours before I took Dave to the ship yesterday night. It's so heartbreaking for me to even look at these right now. I'm gonna miss him so much!

7 weeks old

Leah was 7 weeks old on Thursday. She is growing like a weed. I had her in a 6 month sleeper a couple of days ago, and then today she's in a 6-9 month one. I think maybe they were smaller ones..at least I hope so! She's such a great baby. It's so easy to make her smile and laugh. She really enjoy's being in her playpin looking at her bears and listening to her music. She is always kicking or wiggling around somehow. I think she's starting to move more to. We might have a rolling sooner then we think! Leah does have some awful cradle cap going on right now. I have to do the mineral oil or baby oil thing here soon. Haley had it to, but I can't remember what I did for it. I think I'll just use a comb and comb it out after her bath.

Going out

Friday night, Stacie, Lisa and Vince came up to see Leah and Haley and Dave and I and then we all went to BW 3's to eat dinner and relax. We had such a fun time. I'm so glad I got to go out one time while I was home. I really needed it. Dave went out like 4 times haha, but he's going to be gone he needed it to. Thanks so much for you all coming out. Unfortunaley, Lisa nor Vince were able to get to close to Leah b/c they had a cold. Next time though!

Smiling and Laughing

Leah is now really officially smiling and laughing. About two weeks ago, I swear she started to laugh at me. Now it's the most beautiful baby grin ever! She does this grin with no teeth gums and then she does this full fledge mouth opening grin that looks like she's laughing. I love it. She's such a good baby. She rarely cries. She only cries when she gets hungry and that isn't even a cry. IT's more like a "ehh, ehh" sound. She's sleeping pretty good to. She naps off and on all day. About 1/2 hour here and there. She's up more and more everyday. I have a hard time getting her to sleep at night but she normally sleeps a good 5 to 6 hours at night. That is so great compared to what Haley did. I was up with her 3 times a night, with Leah, I'm might be up 1 time if that! It's so wonderful. I just love her to pieces!!

Giraffe Princess

Haley loves to still dress up in different dress up clothes. She has been lately being the "Giraffe Princess." Gotta love her imagination.
