Haley's Potty Prize..A princess Nightgown.

Haley's first potty prize is her princess nightgown. She loves it! We got it at Target for her. She wants to wear it everyday. haha. What else is new! Her hair was a little crazy from her pigtails from the day. Of course Jersey had to get in the picture to. Yeah Haley! More prizes to come when she goes on the potty.

My 28th Birthday (April 23)

Wednesday was my 28th birthday. It didn't start out very fun, but Dave made it a nice birthday. He came home from work with a dozen red roses, a card, Oreo ice cream and a birthday cake for me. I was so excited! I told him all I wanted was a birthday cake and ice cream. We went to Applebee's for dinner and it was yummy. We were so stuffed so we walked around Target and got Haley's prize her princess nightgown. We went home and Dave wanted me to ride my bike on my birthday since I hadn't been able to ride it with Haley on the back yet. She loved it!! I was so afriad she would be scared. She was a pro on it. We both took turns riding with her. I rode around for about a half hour with her. We went inside and had cake and ice cream. Ever since that day she had cake, Haley asks for it all the time. She loves her sweets. That night I watched my show Big Brother and relaxed. I was off thank goodness. I worked four days in a row starting thurs till yesterday. I'm pooped!! Overall, I had a great birthday. Thank you honey :)

Potty ready!

After I posted the last post, Haley started using the potty almost everytime. We haven't gotten her to poop on the potty, which is fine. That will come in time, but she is offically using the potty regularly. We put her on the potty about every 30 minutes or so and before and after her nap, and always before and after we go play outside or go somewhere. She is doing so well. We have the little girl potty (that is what I call it) in the family room and the Elmo potty seat on the toliet downstairs and the handle potty seat on the toliet upstairs. She goes on all three of them. She has only had about 4 accidents in the last week. She's pooped in her underwear twice (gross!!!) and peed in her pull up once for me and once for Dave. I really think she's ready to do this now. I'm so excited. We either have her in pull ups or underwear all day long. I have only used maybe 2 pull ups a day. I do put her in a diaper still for nap time and night time. I don't trust the pull ups that much. Since Haley's still in a crib, she can't go during the night unless she tells me. If she continues going this well on the potty, I think we might be putting her in a big girl bed earlier then excepted. I do think she's ready for that to, but her favorite thing her "pi pi" will have to say so long! That will still be a challenge. We are leaving to go to Ohio for a week and then Dave's Dad and step mom are coming. Then I'll be taking away her pacifier. I'm dreading doing it, but it has to be done, just like the potty training. My little girl is growing up! I'm excited and sad at the same time. But like everything in life, it must be done :)
I forgot to add that we are doing a potty chart. I made it with sticker foam letters that I used for scrapbooking. What I did was put "Haley's Potty Chart" and then number 1-9 across and put a butterfly sticker for the #10. She puts stars on the chart everytime she goes on the potty. When she gets to #10, then she gets a prize. She also gets either a sticker mickey or pooh to play with or 1 M&M. She loves the M&M's and it's very good incentive for her to use the potty. It's been working like a charm!! Her first sticker was a princess nightgown. She picked it over the Dora pj's. We haven't gotten her the three other prizes we own her haha. I think we have sort of lost track of the potty stickers, but when she reminds us we put them on it. I'm so proud of her though for using it. :)

Progress...

Well, my stubborn and bullheaded little angel went on the potty two times yesterday. This is progress. She has never gone twice in one day. For her nap, I put on a diaper, and then when she woke up Dave was home. He automatically put a diaper back on. Well, I was making dinner and cleaning up. Aftewards, I told her it's underwear time again. She hadn't gone in her diaper though, which was a plus. Get this, she had no accidents at all the rest of the night!! She went on the potty, not willingly of course, but went twice! You could tell everytime she was going. She got this grin on her face. I love it. Dave and I were so proud of her at those moments haha. Kind of funny to say but we were. I'm going to keep this up. She only wears underwear at home and a diaper at naptime and bedtime. She was so funny last night she turns to me when I said it was ni night time. She said "Mommy, I wear a diaper to bed right?" She's so cute! Anywho, Allie and Scott you guys are right. I gotta stick to my guns. Allie the M & M thing is a really good idea. SHe loves M & M's. I will also make a sticker chart. The first time she went potty she got a little piece of chocolate. She loves sweets. The second time I gave her two stickers one Mickey and one Minnie. I also had told her that I would buy her Dora Pj's for the summer if she keeps going on the potty. She wants them bad to I know. She keeps mentioning them haha. So, today I'm going to stick to my guns. I'll make a potty chart and have her in underwear or nothing while I'm home. Does anyone have any ideas for when we go places? I just need to go to the grocery store. I know she's not to that point of going in public places, but I guess I just put a pull up on her? This potty training thing is hard!!

Frustrated but it's got to be done

Today I decided to have Haley in underwear or a pull up all day long. It's raining and thundering out and suppose to do that all day, so I thought today was a perfect day to see how she would do. OMG, it's been HORRIBLE! Haley is very very very very very stubborn. Did I say stubborn? I meant bullheaded and stubborn haha. I won't say this is the worst thing we have gone through so far, but it's pretty far up on the list. My daughter knows she's got to use the potty and tells me to change her after the fact, but will not sit on the potty. From about 8:30 till 2:30 she had underwear, a pull up or nothing on. She had three accidents and went on the potty zero times. I love her to pieces and more, but this is so frustrating. The time has finally came that I really need to get her to use the potty. She's 2 1/2 and still LOVES her diapers. She likes the pull ups, but those are basically diapers. I thought if I just used underwear it would be easier and she would get the point. Yeah right! She gets upset when's she's peeing on herself but then is fine afterwards. Haley is a very smart toddler. She can do anything brainage wise, but this potty training is not her thing. I guess we just have to keep trying. The time has come that I can't keep saying, "Oh, I'll wait another month." If I wait to long she'll be 3 years old. That is way to late to keep doing it. We made a goal that she would be using the potty by July frequently, but can still have some accidents. July is when Dave will start leaving for his short underways. That means I'll be doing it myself. I'll have some help though when mom comes up in July for two weeks. I just wanted to get my frustration off my chest. For all of those who have already potty trained a child, I salute you!!! :) This is hard work!!!!

Redwing Park

Friday was a really nice day here. It hit like 85 or something. Lindsay had asked if I wanted to go walking and I suggested a new park. Dave and I use to walk Jersey and Haley there when we first moved to Va, but hadn't been back in a while. It's mainly a little trail that goes up a long walk way of soccerfields to a huge playground. There is also a dog play ground there to and lots of picnic and grill areas. We had gone their on Thursday and walked twice around and then let the girls play at the big play area. This time we walked and let them play at the smaller play area. We had the park all to ourselves. It was so nice not to worry about other kids pushing them down. Haley was so brave at this playground. She was going down all the slides and having a great time. I can't believe how brave she is getting. Her and Emily had a really fun time. The swings are always Haley's favorite. She had to go on them like 10 times haha. I was trying to get a nice picture side by side of them but Emily wasn't coroporating haha. She just wanted to keep running around playing. Oh well! What can you do they are 2. I think I'll take Haley back to that park again soon. It's so quiet and it's mostly mothers with children their age or not yet school age. I was trying to get a picture of the girls by a really pretty flower bush, but it was to tall to se the flowers haha.

Nice weather and driveway fun

It's been while since I posted anything on the site. I have been kind of busy with working and stuff. No excuse though hehe. Here are a few pictures of Haley just playing on the driveway. The weather had been pretty crappy last week so we finally had a nice day on 4/11. That is when these were taken. She had a fun time. I didn't know what to play on the driveway so she played chalk and her sand toys haha. It entertained her. She sat in her beach chairs. She was pretending to talk to grandma on the phone.

race track

Ever since Haley got her blocks for Christmas, we have all been playing with them. Dave is a little more obsessed with them then I am. He likes to play with them even when she is sleeping haha. While I was at work on Saturday, he took her to Toys R US and bought her more blocks. She now has girlie ones that are pink and white. I built her a race track for her little elmo car yesterday. She has a hard time letting us build with them b/c she always wants to help. Or, she knocks over the blocks. She does that all the time. We have had to scold her numerous time for it. But, she's only 2 that is what we have to remember. Haley is actually 2 1/2 today! I have offically decided to take away her pacifier on May 1st and start potty training. I know it's going to be a hard process. She only gets it at night or nap time. It will still be a hard process though. I know a lot of screaming for it for at least a week. Ug, I'm not looking forward to it. As for potty training, I'm not looking forward to that either. She wants nothing to do with it still. So, maybe a miracle will happen b/t now and then haha.

Mommy and Daddy's bed

When ever I take a shower or get ready or whatever Haley always likes to lay in our bed and watch Dora or whatever show she picks. I'm so glad she started this. That way when I'm in the shower I know she is okay and not getting into something haha. She loves to lay in our bed, especially with the covers on :)

Dora Pj's and Elmo slippers

Haley loves these Dora Pj's and elmo slippers. I thought I would post a good picture with her in them.

bank toy

Well, Wednesday night we had a really weird call. Some Indian guy claimed to be from Navy Federal's fraud company. He said someone took $500 out of Dave's checking. Well, he was asking Dave all this info and wanted him acct number. Dave was so confused what was going on. So, he's like no my account is fine and I'm not giving you my account number. So, he hung up on him and the guy called back asking the same stuff. Well, Dave was like no, and hung up. Mind you this was at 10:30 at night when they called! He got there company and phone number. It was defintely a fraudulant call. They gave him a 15 digit number. So, we got on the internet checked our accounts and everything was fine. We called Navy Fed and they said we would never call that late or ask for you account number. They put a note on our accounts about it. I went into the bank the next day to tell them again and put a password on our accounts. It was just really scary that people are doing this stuff!! I'm so glad Dave didn't fall for it. So, while we were at the bank Haley got a globe with a rope on it. She called it her "yo yo." She had to show all her friends it.

headband

We had a few days last week when it was reallky nice outside. I broke out Haley's new capri pants outfits. I loved this one on her. It came with a cute little headband. I thought she looked adorable in it! Her little pants were falling off her butt all day long. I even put a belt on it. Oh well. Oh yeah, Haley weighed herself yesterday. She was like 31.8 lbs. For someone who eats next to nothing, she's still gaining weight :)
