Big Girl Bed and NO MORE PIE PIE!!!!

Friday night was Haley's first night in her big girl bed. I was nervous and Dave was to. We still had her crib set up on the other wall of her room just in case she didn't want to give up the pie pie. Well, the transition went smoother then expected. She knew she wasn't allowed her pie pie if she was in her big girl bed. She never asked for it but 1 time. We said good night to her and closed the door. SHe whimpered for about a 1/2 hour or so, and then I went up with her to see what was wrong. I laid down with her beside her and within 10 minutes she was out. She asked for her pie pie 1 time in that time frame and I told her no, your in your big girl bed now. She never woke up in the middle of the night that night. She has been taking her naps and going down for bedtime every since without it and in her bed. I'm so proud of her. I didn't have to do anything to it. I didn't have to cut it or anything. I never thought the transition would be this good! Thank the lord! Dave and I were terrified. We had to do it when his sister was here to. I'm glad it was such a success for their sakes to haha. They would of heard screaming for hours if it wasn't. Haley is offically a big girl!

Family Fun #3

Wednesday afternoon Dave's oldest sister Val and her family came down to visit us. We had a really fun week/weekend with them. Wednesday I took Val, Erica and Haley to the pool. We swam until Dave got off of work. We then went to dinner at Chili's. It was yummy of course! Thursday they all went to Bush Gardens and Haley and I stayed home. Since I am pregnant, I couldn't do anything there, so I thought it wasn't worth going. Haley is pretty young to so I thought they would have a better time without having to watch her to. They had a really good time. Then Friday, was mattress day drama, which I'll post a separate post about that. After that, we went down to the beach for a few hours. Haley did great even though she didn't have a nap. She loves playing in the sand. She was covered from head to toe with sand. She loves the ocean to. I forgot my camera so I didn't get any pictures. That night we went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. That was awesome! Haley fell asleep in the car on the way there and was a bit cranky at first, but livened up. She didn't eat much though but bread and a few fries. Saturday the guys all went golfing and I took Val, Erica and Haley to the pool again. Haley met a new boyfriend named Corbin. He was three and had a cool tatoo. haha. THey played really nicely together in the baby pool. Haley loves the baby pool. Again, I forgot my camera. That night we grilled marinated chicken and had mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, corn, salad and some really good wheat rolls for dinner. It was a yummy dinner! We went down to the boardwalk and Haley road the kiddy train and the helicopters with Dave and Erica. I again forgot my camera. I think Val is going to send me copies of hers over email. We woke up Sunday morning and went to IHOP for breakfast. I love IHOP. It's kind of a tradition whenever someone is leaving to go back we go to IHOP before they hit the road. IT's a great tradition if you ask me. This IHOP down here is very good. The pancakes are excellant. Haley loves the pancakes and will eat almost a whole order of baby cakes. It's about time she'll eat something! haha

Silly Faces

Haley is into making silly faces as of late. These pictures crack me up!

Dairy Queen

We had some YUMMY Dairy queen last week. Haley LOVES ice cream. She was having so much fun with it. She loves chocolate to. She is a kid that sugar make her crazy. I think next time we might stick with vanilla. She was crazy after this. She still went to bed on time. :0) I think the last picture just shows how much fun she was having. She kept going 'Ice Cream..hmmm..YUMMY!!"

An Overdue visit

A week ago Sunday, Emily and Lindsay came over for a nice long visit. We hadn't seen them in about an month and half. It's harder now to get together b/c she is leaving Norfolk now, not Va Beach. So, we had planned all week to get together and then things kept coming up, so we finally got our long overdue visit. The girls had a nice time together. While Lindsay and I caught up, the girls played with all of Haley's toys. Lindsay and I were pleasantly surprised by the girls not having much of a size difference anymore. Haley is still taller then Emily but not by much. Emily's growing , and Haley has slowed down. We feed the girls mac and cheese for lunch and then got the little pool out for them to play in. Haley was all about the pool but Emily had more fun playing on Haley's outside toys. I got the sprinkle out a bit later and Haley LOVED it! She would just stand in the sprinkle and she started to shiver! Emily was a bit scared of it, but I ran through it with her twice and she warmed up to it a little bit. I had to call an end to their sprinkle fun though b/c I was afraid Haley would start turning blue from being so cold. She just was shivering so bad. The girls didn't like that to much and started both to cry. We got them happy though when we bribed them with apple's and a movie haha. It was a really fun day! BTW, Lindsay is pregnant to. Isn't that crazy! I am a few days ahead of her, but we will be due within a week of each other again. I love being pregnant with someone. We can talk about all our crazy things that are going on with our body. This time we get to be pregnant the whole time together. It will a lot of fun!

We are pregnant!!!

After 8 months of trying, Dave and I are pregnant.....again. :) We are so happy about this. I waited a while to post it on the blog, just because we were so early. I am now 10 weeks and 3 days. We had our first officaly ultrasound yesterday. The dr said the everything is looking great. The baby has a strong heartbeat. The heartbeat was 147. The baby already has the limbs for arms and legs. The baby was jumping around like crazy in me when they were doing the ultrasound. It was so neat to watch. I couldn't remember Haley doing that when she was that small. It's just an amazing experience watching your baby for the first time in you. I loved it! Dave got to come for my appt to. We have gotten to see our babies first together each time. The last ultrasound picture shows the baby with it's arm up by it's head. I really can't tell, but I thought you guys might beable to haha. My due date is Jan 10th. I was measuring 10 weeks and 5 days yesterday. She didn't change my due date though. I'm waying the pro's and cons of having another c-section. I think I basically have made my mind up after hearing the bad statistics of having a natural birth after c-section. They are pretty scary. I could have my c-section up to a week before my due date. Dave leaves for three weeks on Jan 6th for work ups, and the earliest possible c-section date is Jan 5th, unless I go early. I'm hoping I go early so he'll beable to be here for everything. If not, I know my mom will be here, but I really want my husband to be here for the birth. We will find out what the baby is. We are way to impatient not to. We aren't hoping for a girl or boy, we just want it to be a healthy baby. I'm not in maternity clothes yet or anything. I'm starting to show a little bit though. I haven't gained any weight but maybe 1 lb. That is awesome for me to! I had already gained 8 lbs with Haley by now haha. So, I'm on a good track now. No morning sickness either to report either. I may have lucked out again on that one. Thank goodness! I'll post some belly pictures soon when I get my husband home to take some. Sorry the ultrasound pictures are so small, I couldn't figure out how to enhance them.

Here is a picture of Haley's new princess bedding. I really like it. We got her lavender sheets as well. it comes with some, but I knew since the bedding wasn't going to be here before we got her mattresses then we would need sheets. They were only $15 at Target. I thought that was a pretty good deal for a full size bed :)

A little Update

Hello, I haven't taken any pictures lately but figured I would update on here for a minute. On Friday, we went out to dinner and decided to go look for Haley's princess bed again. Well, we first went to Value City, and ruled them out right away. We did like anything and the one I did like, was the same one Emily has so I couldn't do that. So, we went back to Hayne's furniture and looked at the set that I loved from the first moment we saw it months ago. We have been back like 4 times to see it. So, we ended up getting it. It was on sale (thank goodness). We got her a full bed with head board and rails, a dresser with a mirror and a chest of drawers. It came with a nightstand but we opted out of that. She doesnt need one as of right now. How we will be setting up her room she'll have plenty of light by her bed. We also had the space issue. We went back and forth b/t a full or twin bed, but decided on a full. I had one when I was a kid and Dave had a twin so we wanted a full for her. Plus, I really think she's going to be tall. It might just be more comfortable. I was also thinking that maybe grandma could share a bed with her sometime when she's visiting. So that was a really exciting and stressful buying that furniture. IT was pretty pricey and I really hope we made the right decision. It will be coming on June 24th the day before we go to Ohio. One good thing, there was no payment and no interest for 1 year. So, we were happy to hear that. Last night, we went and bought the mattresses from Mattress Discounter. My mom is very nice and offered to buy them and all her bedding. That helps us out greatly with cost. So, we can pick those up on this tuesday. We think we might just have her sleep on the mattresses on the floor for now until her bedroom set comes in. That way she can get use to it. I also ordered her bedding from Target online. That bad thing is it might take up to 6 weeks to come in. I'm hoping it won't. I can probably post a picture of that soon. Now for the fun part, well Dave and I have been talking about getting rid of Haley's pacifier forever. We both agreed she won't have one when she gets in her princes bed. Well, last night I tried to take it away from her. She screamed for her "pie pie" for an hour. It was the most horrible thing. We couldn't take it. I really think we will need some advice on this one. Does anyone have any advice how they got their kids off of it? Haley only uses 1 for bedtime and naptime. So, that is the only time she will need off of it. I just don't know what to do. I was really hoping it would be a little easier. I was defintely wrong. If anyone has any advice or anything PLEASE PLEASE tell me. I will try anything!!! :)

Haley doing laundry

Here's Haley "helping" me do laundry. She puts herself in the basket instead haha. This is one of the many dresses she has for this summer. My mom bought her like 10 dresses! We actually got Haley this one at Target. I love it!

Pool baby!

This is one of the 10 bathing suits my mom got her for this summer. We have been going to the pool for the last few days b/c it's been over 100 degrees. Dave's been off or getting off early, so it's been really nice. Haley is a water kid! She wants to just try to swim. I'm going to call about swimming lessons tomorrow to try to get her into some coming up soon. Kim told me the base swimming lessons are only $30 for 2 weeks and they are only 1/2 hour long. I think that is perfect! I took swimming lessons for 10 years I think. I think it is VERY important to learn to swim. So, I really hope I can get Haley into some soon.

Sticker on my nose

Haley was so funny Saturday night. While Jaime and Scott were gone at the boardwalk, she was laughing like crazy. She had gone potty and wanted a Dora sticker. So, I gave her a sticker and she put it on her nose. She then wanted it on my nose. She was just cracking up laughing. It was so funny. She's such a goof ball sometimes.

Haley's "H"

Haley learned out to write an H last week. We spent a lot of time at home, so she really started to try to write her name. She always wants us to help her spell it. So, I told her to try to do it herself. She wrote this "H" perfect! I was so pleasantly surprised. She has been writing good H's ever since. She's working on the A now. She's a lot harder then the H.

Watering the flowers

Haley loves to help me water the flowers. She has her very on Dora watering can. First thing in the morning she asks to water the flowers. I remind her we do it after dinner. She is really getting good at watering to. She use to tip it to much and water would come out of the top. She now lets it sprinkle out just the nose part. We can't mentioned watering the flowers without Haley wanting to go to or crying if we said we already did it.

Aunt Jaime, Jason, and kids visit

This weekend Jaime Dave's sister, her fiance Scott, Jason Jaime's son, and Scotts to kids Jacob and Krislyn came to visit us. They stopped on there way to NC. We had a fun visit. Haley loves her cousins. Her and Jason played and played. It's so nice now she's old enough to play and understand what he's telling her to do. They really got along well. Jason slept on her Dora couch one night haha. We really do that much but cook out Friday and Saturday night. They went to the Aquarium and boardwalk on Saturday. Dave had duty on saturday so he wasn't here for that Day. We went to breakfast at IHOP on Sunday morning and Haley ate more then Jason. They got the same pancake meal to. She loves her breakfast!

Memorial Day

I hadn't posted these pictures from Memorial Day weekend yet. Lisa and Vince came to visit us for the weekend. We had a lot of fun. Lisa, Haley and I did some bridesmaid dress shopping while the guys golfed on the Sunday. Then we went to the Strawberry Festival and ate strawberry short cakes and saw pig racing. We went to the beach that monday for the 2nd times this year. It was a good time. I think everyone got a little burnt except for me. :) I put lotion on. We put a ton on Haley but she still seemed to get some sun. The Virginia sun is very strong. We went down to the boardwalk monday night and got a good old picture with King Neptune ( I call him King Tritan for Haley.)

Pool fun!

Today was the first day we got out Haley's little pool for her to play in this summer. I had took a look at the forecast and saw it's suppose to be almost 100 degree's for the next week here. YUCK! So, I had invited Lindsay over and to bring Emily to play with Haley and swim. Well, Lindsay called and said she wasn't feeling to hot, so she wasn't coming over. I decided to see let Haley play in the pool. She had a blast by herself. She just talks and talks and talks and talks some more to herself or her toys or me. She defintely got her talkitiveness from her Aunt Val :) haha. I let her play with some of her sand toys in her pool. She wore one of her 15 new bathing suits. She picked out a princess one, but it seemed to hurt her she said (to small already.) So, she picked out this Ariel one to wear. It seemed big in werid places, but did the job. I think Haley is going to have to wear 2 pieces in the near future. She is so tall and long torsoed, it's just defintely in the cards. I can't seem to get a 1 piece to fit her really well. It was a fun afternoon though.
