Is this my baby?
Poor Puppy
So, yesterday we had a scare with Jersey. I had taken her to the vet for her annual check up and shots. We got home and I was making the girls their lunch. I dropped a hotdog on the floor and Jersey gobbled it up whole. Nothing out of the ordinary there. I was feeding Leah her lunch and then bam..Jersey starts to throw up. I counted at least 15 times she threw up. Poor Puppy. So, I called the vet b/c I was wondering if I could give her something to make her fell better. So, they said it was probably a reaction to the shots to bring her down right away. I had to wait for my mom to get home so she could watch the girls. Took Jersey down and they gave her a anti nausea shot and bendedyrl shot. She looked so sad when we were there. She kept crying and trying to get out the door. We got home and she just laid around but wasn't knocked out or anything. She did throw up one more time, but then was fine the rest of the night. She did get two really cool purple band aids when she was there. Haley thought it was so neat that she got purple ones. She was so concerned about her to and wanted to make sure her shots didn't hurt and she didn't fell them. I assured her that she did not feel them. We were all worried about our puppy girl yesterday. Thank goodness she is fine!

Poor Baby
Leah's been going through a rough few weeks since Dave left. She's been teething and very constipated since switching to milk. I have gone through some very long nights with Leah. She's been waking up and screaming for a pacifier, or she's been just walking up screaming and I have no idea why. It will take her about 1 to 2 hours to go back to sleep. Then during the day she was having such a hard time with #2. I have had to change her diet a bit. I'm adding much more fruit's that start with "P". haha. She loves fruit though. She honestly loves any food right now. She's been such a bottomless pit. I love it!! I want this baby to eat like Haley never did. Leah seems to like everything we give her. I haven't found 1 thing she doesn't care for. Her new foods as of late are : scrambled eggs, pieces of cheese, mango, ham, corn muffins, egg noodles, and corn pops. Very random things, but if I have them I let her try this stuff. I'm so excited she eats. Oh, she is also very broke out on her face from slobbering so much. She also what looks like a heat rash on her legs. She's going through a rough time right now. Poor baby!!

Leah's family party
I decided to have a family party for Leah while we were home. I felt extremely bad that Dave missed this party, but I really didn't want the family not to beable to see Leah do a smash cake. He understood of course. It was small one compared to our normal family parties. We just had our immiedate family and a few friends. I made all the food this time. I thought it would be cheaper. I made rigatoni with sauce, bake ham (which was SOOOO GOOD, I rubbed brown sugar on it and put in the crockpot with beer YUM!), salad and bread. Very simple but turned out great! We opened presents very quickly. Leah didn't want anything to do with the presents just wanted to walk away haha. She liked Aunt Jaime's books, but walked away from everything else. Everyone had to keep reeling her in. It was kind of frustrating doing it by yourself, but we got through it. Haley of course had no problem taking over opening the presents for her. Jason, our nephew, didn't either. They were opening them so fast I barely got to see them. That cake was awesome! Lyndsay did the cake again for us. It turned out so good, and so yummy! Leah loved to play in the cake and got down right messy. She didn't eat a thing though. She would rather throw it on the floor. Some of my older relatives didn't like that to much but oh well! I thought it was hilarious! I'm hoping next birthday party for the girls, we can have it in our own house. I'm looking forward to that. :)

Deployment #3
So, deployment has come again..this time #3. It seems like it was always looming on our mind ever since he got home in July. We knew we only had 5 very short months all together again. It just BAM was here again. I was really upset this time. I don't know why this one hit me harder than any of the other ones. I don't know if it's because Leah just turned 1 or what it was. He thankfully,
won't be on the entire deployment. He will be flying off the ship in April and flying back to Va. Then he will be out of the Navy in the beginning of May. Well, that is the plan. So, even though he'll only be gone for 3 1/2 months, it's still going to be really hard for me. I miss him terribly already. It's almost been two weeks. The girls are doing okay with him gone. Haley talks about it alot. Her and her daddy are very close. I love that they have such a closeness. Leah has been super cranky, and I know it's teething, but I really think she misses her daddy. She did this when he was gone for three weeks, and the minute he came back she was wonderful again. So, right now we are just counting down the days again until he comes back. I'm in Ohio with my mom again. I just couldn't be by myself again for 3 1/2 months. It just gets to lonely. I'm really nervous for him to fly home. I'm terrified of flying and just don't want to think of him flying across the ocean. I wish he could just take a boat haha. Just more fears this deployment and it's not even because he's in war but for flying. I just hope and pray for a safe return from the final deployment!!
Happy First Birthday Leah!
Back to the birthday..Leah dug into her cake with her hands, but didn't eat any of it haha. She just played with it and made some funny faces. It was so cute. We got it all on video to haha. It was my second attempt at making a birthday cake, and it didn't come out the way I pictured it, but it was the thought that counted. Leah had a ton of presents of course to open thanks to us haha. She would of course rather eat them. Her favorite was a mirror and piano toy they we got her. She LOVES to look at herself in the mirror. She always goes "Ya Ya Ya." every time she sees herself. She got a riding pony, books, Blues Clues video and Cathy the Caterpillar it's a pull toy. Those were all our presents.
As for Leah's stats at 1 year..
20 lbs 10 oz's 31.5 inches long.
I really thought she was bigger than that. She was 50th in weight and 95th in height.
She is still taking two bottles a day. I haven't taken them away b/c she's not doing well with the sippy cup yet. She's gotten much better, but I would rather do it when I know she will get enough of her liquid.
She started on regular milk about a week before her 1st birthday. I started giving it to her with cereal in the morning..like Rice Krispes or Cheerios.
She is taking 7 oz bottles now.
Feeding her is still very difficult. She has to be completely distracted to eat, but will eat whatever you give her if she is. It's so strange. I don't think I will ever have a child that is easy at feeding or eating. It's very stressful for me. I'm really the only one who can feed her b/c of this.
She loves Blues Clues and Yo Gabba Gabba still.
She is in a size 3 diaper still.
She goes to bed still at 8:15-about 7am. It's been varying b/c she is teething horribly right now.
As of two weeks ago, she had 12 teeth. That is including all of her 1 year old molars. It's been really rough with her teething. She waking up a lot at night crying for her pacifier. It's just been rough and some really sleep deprived days as of late. I'm hoping it's going to get a little easier soon.
She loves to play with Haley and try to eat her Barbies haha.
She loves her pacifiers and loves to crawl real fast and walk. That is one of her new favorite things. She gets excited when she escapes and knows she escaped where she shouldn't be.
She loves to climb on Haley's table, stand up and then put her arms out to jump to me. Yes, this is no good!!
She can climb up the entire stairs at my mom's without falling..crawling.
Happy 1st Birthday Leah..we love you so much and are so luck you are our baby girl. We can't wait to see what your 2nd year will be like. I know it will be as great as the first year. We love you!!

OHIO
It's been a while since I was able to update the blog. I don't know if everyone is as into the blogging as we use to. I'm going to try to get back into it here while Dave is gone. So, that is actually why I'm writing a quick thing. We are leaving for Ohio tomorrow morning and will be in Ohio for three months. Dave left for his third deployment on Saturday. It's going to be different b/c he'll only be gone for 3 1/2 months, but still 3 1/2 months to long!! So, I hope to get this blogging going again. I need to update Leah's 1st birthday pictures and party. If anyone wants to hang out while I'm in Ohio, let me know!
