Snuggling with my giraffee blankie and my friend Emily

Yesterday was my last day of watching Emily while Lindsay had a dr's appt and had to go to work. We had a fun day. The girls played and played. They decided to take a break and cuddle up on the Dora couch and relax and watch some Barbie. These are the only shots I got yesterday, but I thought they were fun. The blanket is Haley's new obsession we'll say. She had to sleep with it for like two weeks. This week is better. Sometimes when she gets upset, she will ask for it. I really don't want to make a habit of it, but I do think it's cute at the same time. It's a toss up on my end. I guess a blanket can't hurt. I don't let her take it anywhere but in the house. It's I guess a new friend haha.

Me and my Daddy

I took this the other night while Haley and Dave were snuggling. I love these kind of pictures with her and Dave. You can tell how much she loves her daddy. Every day he comes home from work, she runs and yell's "Daddy" and gives him a huge hug. This makes up for all the times he's had to go out to sea miss alot of her life. Their snuggle sessions are "priceless." :)

My sleeping angels

This morning about an hour after Dave left Haley woke up with a nightmare. She was crying so, I scooped her up and brought her into our room. I have been pretty sleep deprieved lately, so I didnt care about bringing her into our room. She and I fell right to sleep. I woke up at 7 when our stupid neighbor started his motorcycle. I think he does this at least once a week. I wanted to go yell at him it's to early, but I of course didn't. Some people have no consideration for the house wives that don't have to get up at like 5 am like the normal Navy folks on this street. I'm not a happy camper when I get woke up early. Anyway, this is how I found Haley this morning sleeping in my bed. Yes, she still has her pacifier only at nighttime and naptime. She has 1 in her bed and that is it. I attempted to try to put her to bed without it Saturday and I literally took 4 steps out of the room and she yelled "Mommy, my pi pi!" At least she's not attached to the point she needs it when going places or walking around. I'm glad we stopped that over a year ago. I really wish we never gave it to her, but what can I do now. It's going to be a hard process and she'll get it over it eventually. It's look liking probably this summer will be the time to say "so long" to the "pi pi." Then she will be in a big girl bed by her birthday. We don't want to rush to much stuff. She's nice and cozy in her crib for now. When she does sleep in a big bed, she's all over the place. It makes me nervous and me to think that she's not ready for a bed. She sleeps diagonally sometimes and just pretty much everywhere.

Okay, so after see Haley and taking a picture of her, I decided to come check email and post this. Well, I saw Jersey on our futon sleeping. Ever since we changed it back into a couch and let Jersey on it, she thinks it's her new bed. So, I took a picture of her to haha. Oh yeah, as for the sleeped deprieved stuff, DAve has had a cough for the last 3 nights while trying to sleep. Two nights ago, he took some medicine and it made him drousy. Well, he was coughing, snoring and then talking in his sleep throughout the night. I had to kick Jersey off the futon to sleep on there. I moved to our bed once Dave left for work. Ug, I was so frustrated. He just started to try the breathe right nose strips. I'm going keep on him about using them. Okay, I better go the little munchkin is up!

Toybin

Apprently, toybins aren't just for toys anymore, they are for little girls named Haley. I was cooking dinner the other day and I hear her talking away. I looked over the shelf and see her in the basket. She was kept going I'm silly, I in the basket and laughing. I guess whatever makes her happy and keeps her busy while I cook. It's been about 2 weeks now that she asked for Dora or Diego all the time to watch. I'm so glad we have On Demand now. I go to freezone and put Dora or Diego on. Haley still favors Diego. It's so much easier then buying the DVD's.

Playing

Here is just some fun pictures of the girls being silly and themselves. They get along so well for being so young. I think they are just really use to each other now. It's funny they ask for each other whenever they aren't with each other. I'm so glad they have became such good friends at such an early age. :)

Painting

Last Thursday, I watched Emily again while Lindsay worked. Haley wanted to paint, so I sent the paints up for the girls. Haley loves to paint. It's just watercolors so she doesn't get it everywhere. I put their "paint clothes" on them. My mom had found two really cute long sleeved bibs that are really long. So, each girl had one. The both had a blast. The both painted at least three pictures. It was Emily's first time painting so she had a ball. It still hard to tell them they need to dip their brush into the water then go to a color, or dip their brush after each color. They didn't understand that one to much haha. It was fun watching them. I decided I'm going to keep a shoebox of everything Haley does at different ages, since she is starting to want to paint and color more. I think it will be fun to look back at what she did at that age. I'm going to put all her cards and etc in there to.

Three Cheese Linguini

1 pkg of Linguini (or whatever pasta on hand)
2 tbps olive oil
1 clove garlic
2 medium tomatoes chopped
2 medium zucchini sliced
1 small green pepper diced
6 green onions chopped
1 cup mushrooms
1 tbsp parsely
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Cook Linguini according to the package. In a large skillet, saute garlic in olive oil for about 2 minutes. Remove garlic and discard. Stir in all vegetables except cheeses. Saute until tender about 8 to 10 minutes. Mix linguini and vegetables together. Add both cheeses to mixture and toss together.

Dave likes meat with his meals so I have tried just serving this with chicken and cooking it with butter in a skillet. Last time I made this I made it with ground sausage meatballs (the mild johnsville ground sausage.) It was so YUMMY with the meatballs. I will defintely probably serve it like that again. All I did was roll the ground sausage into meatballs straight from the package and cook them for about 35 minutes in the oven. I served them separately, but mixed the mixture with the meatballs on my plate. We also don't like mushrooms so we don't those in. You can omit any of the veggies you don't like. I love this meal though, it's very simply and very fast to cook. YUMMY!!

Valentines Day

We had a nice Valentines day. Dave brought home the day before a Valentine's Day balloon and bear for Haley. She loved both of them. Her and Emily played with the balloon for days afterwards. Dave bought me a VCR/DVD recorder for a exchange Christmas and VAlentine's Day present. We can't afford a DVR right now, so I had to get another VCR to record my shows. Unfortunately it doesn't record with Digital cable. I don't get that. So, we moved the old one up in our room so I can record my show on just regular cable. I think that is how they get you to get a DVR I guess. I made him a card out of candy hearts and gave him a Redskin's jersey. He loved it! WE went to Chili's for dinner and it was really nice. Haley sat by Dave and was an angel. She wouldn't eat her mac and cheese, but what else is new. I at least had a very well behaved toddler. I can say her eating is terrible but her behavior most of the time is right on. It may change but at least for right now she's doing great!

Babysitting Emily

Lindsay has to work again last tues, weds and thursday and she asked me to watch Emily for those days. So, here are some random pictures of the girls playing throughout those days. They had a really fun time. I was feeling horrible all week. I don't know if I had a little flu or what. The girls both had runny noses. It just was a fun filled sick week haha.

Chicken Fajita Pizza Reciepe #2

Fajita Pizza

2 tbsp veg oil or olive oil
2 to 3 breast of chicken or thighs
1/2 bell pepper (we used green and red)
1 onion
1 cup of salsa
1 1/2 cup bisquick
1/3 water
1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

1.) Heat oven to 450
Cook chicken 3 minutes. Add pepper and onion. Cook 3 to 4 minutes. Remove frm heat. Stir in salsa.

2.) Another bowl stir together bisquick and very hot water until dough forms. Beat vigoursouly with spoon(20 strokes). Press dough in pan using fingers dipped in Bisquick. Pinch edge to form 1/2 inch rim. Sprinkle 3/4 cup cheese ovr crust. Top with chicken mix. Sprinkle remaining 3/4 cheese.

Bake 12 minutes or until crust is brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.

I made this last week and just used a pizza crust from Pilsbury. It was really good. I thought I would just throw in the reciepe for the pizza crust if you guys were ambitious enough to make it homemade. You can also add or subtract any ingredients and it will still be good. I love cheese so I added cheese to mine. I don't measure much and it turned out really good. Enjoy :)

Fun with Abigail

Today Marna and Abigail came over for a while during mid morning and afternoon. I haven't seen Marna in a few weeks. She just got her real estate license so she only has monday and tuesday off so we see each other every few weeks now. We wanted to do something, but it turned to be cold out today! It went from 60 to 25! Yuck! So, they came over here for a few hours. The girls had a lot of fun. They danced around to backyardigans, played with the zebra and horse, and played princess dress up. They got a long pretty well. Marna brought Abigail over in underwear today. She's been potty training her for a while now. She had an accident though over here. So, I had to let her borrow some pants and pull up. But, she is doing really well though if she can leave without a diaper on. I can't say the same for Haley. I'm not worried. Summer time will be our time to potty train.

Spiderman Kite

Yesterday it was so windy here. We had gone out to breakfast at IHOP for all you can eat pancakses. YUmmy!! Haley didn't do as good as we hoped. We had her sit in a boosterseat seat. She kept getting up and sitting by me or on the other side of the booster seat. Then we asked for a highchair. She kept asking for her pancakes. After her pancakes she was better, but had a little melt down for a minutes over something I can't remember why haha. We went to the NEX to get Dave's haircut. Haley and I looked at all the toys and books while we waited. She wanted to sit right on the floor and read books. I told her that is not a good idea. It's way to dirty. We came home and watched Uncle Buck. Since we have digital cable now, we have really been taking advantage of the Encore movie channels. We love them! So, we watched that oldie but goody movie. I have been really wanted to take Jersey to the park across the street from us. I think she really needs more excerise. So, we bundled all up, and took Jersey and Haley across the street. We got the Spiderman kite up this time and flew it. It worked great!! It was so windy it was up really fast. It ended up breaking though unfortunately it's a cheap one haha. Jersey had a ball literally playing ball! I threw the ball for her like 25 million times. She stayed right with us to. I think I might beable to take Jersey on my own with Haley maybe to the park. There is normally no one there when I go. Haley had a so much fun watching the kite and chasing after Jersey. She wanted to swing, but it was way to windy. I was to afraid she would be blown off. It was like 62 out so it wasn't cold, but I had her wintercoast and hat on. Haley is doing much better. She was only sick for two days. I now feel like I'm coming down with something. I'm just really tired. I was totally exhausted the last two days. I think today b/c we got up before 7 o'clock! Ug!!!

Grandma and Daddy Potatohead

Haley and I played Potatohead's on saturday morning while Daddy slept. We made a boy and a girl one. I asked Haley who they were and she said Grandma and Daddy! haha. She loves making grandma potatohead. We also played blocks and built rocketships. That is her favorite thing to build is a rocketship. Everytime you ask what she is building it's a rocketship. Does she really know a rocketship is? I don't think so!

My recipe #1

Okay, here is my first recipe. Sorry I was going to post this earlier, but Haley's came down with something. I had to run around to two different stores to get a humidifier filter. She's so congested. I think she has what Dave had. I'm sure I'm next. I was trying to clean all I could with Lysol and sweep the floor before I got it. At least the house should be de germitized! haha

Green Chili-Chicken Casserole

4 cups shredded cooked chicken
1 1/2 cups green enchilada sauce
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 container of sour cream
1 can diced chilies
1/2 cup veg oil
12 tortillas
1 1/2 cups of shredded colby-jack or mexican cheese

1.) Preheat oven to 325F. Grease 13x9 inch casserole dish.

2.) Combine Chicken, enchilada sauce, soup, sour cream, and chilies in large skillet. Cook and stir over medium high heat until warm.

3.) Heat oil in separate deep skillet. Fry tortillas just until soft; drain on paper towels. Place 4 tortillas on bottom of prepared casserole. Layer with 1/3 of chicken mix and 1/2 cup cheese. Repeat layers twice.

4.) Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and casserole is heated through.

Notes: I omitted the sour cream and the green chilies. Dave doesn't like sour cream and I was afraid to have the green chilies b/c we have never had the green chili enchilada sauce. I ate mine with sour cream. I also didn't fry the torillas first, I just put one down in the dish and put the mix on it with the cheese and then repeated that until it was to the top of the dish. What I do a lot of time is follow the reciepe but omit the things we don't like and sometimes add things. We had this dish about a week ago and it was yummy!!! I ate it for lunch for about 2 days. It serves about 6 or more. It depends how big of portions. We ate it with just plan white rice and I put some of the sauce on the rice. It was yummmy!!!!!!

Park Day #3

Today was yet another really pretty day out again. It wasn't as warm, but it was around 67 or so. Kim and I were talking this morning and decided to meet up at the library. We had the kids looks at books and play around the library. Haley checked out a Dora and Blues Clues book. She looked at them all the way to the park and home. We met up at the park by Kim's house were I met her at. The kids had a blast. I happened to have my camera with me for a change! I was so excited to get pictures of Haley playing on these different things. She is getting so brave. She kept climbing up this ladder thing that Dave taught her to climb onto the jungle gym. I was so proud of her. She kept doing that and then going down the twisty slide. She never showed any interest in any of this before Dave went to the park with us. Way to go Daddy! She swang on the big girl swing and slide down the slides most of the time. Little Hannah didn't like her picture taken so I didn't really get good shots of her. I got a cute shot of Matthew Kim's son who's 5. It was a really nice relaxing day. Of course Haley fought me leaving the park, but lasted like a minute that God! She fought on her nap again. I guess it's a our daily thing we'll do. I hope it stops soon. All in all, a really great day so far!

Park day # 2

Yesterday, I didn't know what I wanted to do. I was kind of craving some adult interaction, but all my friends were busy or had sick kids. So, it was a Haley and I day. We went to the commisary and got Dave some fixings for homemade chicken noodle soup. He came down with something late tuesday night. It was weird, all of the sudden he was just sneezing like crazy. He only got 2 hours of sleep tuesday. Poor guy! Anyway, I then took Haley to the park behind the houses across from our house. She loves to swing. She swang most of the time and played on the jungle gyms. It was kind of muddy still over there. Not sure why? We walked over to the other jungle gym and Haley played on that one. I get nervous with her by herself on them still. These ones are a little more open then the one we have been going to. She had a really fun time. She threw a bit of tantrum leaving, but that is to be expected. I told her she could watch Dora or Diego when we got home and she was happen then. The wind was terrible yesterday. That was one reason why we left and I was starving hahah!
