Relaxtion Sunday

Sunday was a total relax day. I think I needed it and so did Dave. I am so out of conditioned for working. It took me two days to feel better. Haley insisted on wearing a dress again yesterday. She started to cry really big crocodile tears to Dave after her bath b/c he said it was to cold for a dress. Well, I found this one in her closet and told her she could wear it. It was pretty cute. She had tights on though most of they day. I painted Haley's finger nails and toes nails and also did myself. She's so funny b/c she wouldn't sit still. They turned out pretty. She picked out a pretty pastel blue color. First she picked out a bright green I must of had since college, and told her to ask Daddy. He was like um, no! haha. It would of been funny though :)

My new Bike!

Okay, funny story sort of. Dave brought Haley into work on friday while I was working. Haley and him had gone to Target to look for my birthday present. Well, he had told Haley not to tell me what they were going to get me. Well, Dave say's we looked for your present. Haley says 'Mommy, we look for your present, for bike!" I started to laugh so hard. She totally gave it away. So, Saturday we went to Target and he got my bike for an early birthday present. I was so excited! I have wanted a bike for like 10 years. Of course it was cold this weekend to ride it (dropped like 40 degrees). Haley didn't understand that she was to small for it. She kept saying "I ride bike." I'm planning on getting something for the back for her to ride in. I don't know if I should or not though. SHe might be to big for it. I don't know. I have to see them and see if she can ride in it. I'm so excited to go bike riding now in the summer. We can go on the boardwalk and ride. It will be fun :)

Beautiful Friday

This week has been crazy for us. I started Kohl's training on Monday and went in everyday for training up till Thursday, and then started a real shift around 8 on thursday till 10:30. Then worked 5-10:30 on Friday. Needless to say, I'm not use to being on my feet like that and was totally exhausted all weekend. I'm so glad I was off! During the week, Haley and I hung out like usually. Friday was beautiful here. I think it hit 82? It was so nice out. I took her outside in the backyard and she played. She has been insisting on wearing dresses every once in a while. So, I put a cut short on her and let her wear her sandels. She always wants to wear sandels, but it's been to cold. She praticed her squares with chalk on the fence. We are working on those still. I'm trying to teach her how to spell her name. She isn't getting it real well, but I think it will come pretty quickly once she realizes what I'm saying haha. Oh, in the one picture at the bottom I told her it was time to take her ni night nap. She told me she was going to take it right there. haha. Then she wanted to take it in her car. What an imagination :) Oh yeah, she has been not wanting to go to sleep for the last few weeks when we put her to bed. She comes up with the craziest things why she won't go to sleep. She says there are snakes in her room, or sharks or spiders. Kim tells me it's a phase. Does anyone else have this happening? Oh yeah, bath situation is much better. WE got her going in her bathtub and kneeling down, but she won't sit in it. She stands most of the time. I'm thinking at least she's in it. It's getting a bit easier with that at least. :)

Easter 2008

This Easter we kind of just did our own thing. We were pretty dissappointed with not being able to go home and spend it with our families. We all woke up (Dave to) around 8. Haley saw her Easter basket and went nuts. She was so excited. I couldn't get a good picture of her by it because she couldn't keep still. She got a lot of fun Easter presents. She got a dora aqua doodle, an Elmo book you color in and wash it off with cold water and color on again, a dora DVD, zoey backpack, three elmo books and a couple easter chocolate rabbits. She was just in heaven! She was so excited to see the eggs with the chocolate rabbits in it. She played with her new stuff throughout the morning and she started to get sick. Within like two hours, she had a full fledge cold. I felt bad for her, but she is defintely a trooper. When most of us would be lying on the couch feeling crappy, Haley is still running around playing. She never acts sick when she is sick. After Haley's nap (she only slep 45 mins) she woke up and we had an Easter Egg hunt in the house. We were g going to do it outside, but decided not to b/c of her being sick and it dropped 20 degree's from saturday. Anyway, she loved the Easter egg hunt! She kept going "oh there's another one." She did so well to! She found way more then half of the eggs herself. We opened up the eggs and there were more chocolate rabbits and pennies in there. She loved in them. So, we put the pennies in her piggy bank and we let her have 1 chocolate. She wanted more of course. I swear my daughter is a sweet aholic! haha. Over all, our Easter went nicely. We didn't leave the house at all haha. We watched movies and just relaxed. My husband didn't even get out of his pj's haha. Happy Easter Everyone :)

Yeah!

Yeah! Haley is eating again. Not sure if I posted that she went through a good 2 to 3 weeks that she was barely eating anything. I was so frustrated and didn't know what to do. So, thank goodness she's eating again. She's been eating most of her breakfast if not all of it, her normal yogurt and fruit for lunch and her dinner now to. Yeah! She still isn't trying new foods, but I'm just glad she got back to what she was eating before. I had to keep giving her Pediasure everyday and that was horribly expensive. It's very frustrating when your child doesn't eat and you just see the food and money going down the drain. I'm not saying she's doing wonderful, but much better. Eating has been an issues since about age 1 when Daddy left. Dave and I say she always hate her bottles all up and rarely spit up. Maybe's she still full from them haha. :)

Driveway fun

Wednesday, was really warm here in Va Beach. I think it hit like 77. I didn't get to take Haley out in the morning/afternoon because I was babysitting at the church. Well, after dinner I decided to get her little bike out and have her ride it in the driveway. She was so cute trying to pedal. She's still working on it. I think it's hard b/c it's at an angle. Anyway, she was had so much fun. I brought out the chalk and Dave drew a hopscotch. I was drawing all these really bad looking Easter bunnies haha. I never knew how much fun chalk could be. She had a great time. After chalk fun, I decided to try the bath again. She was still scared. We told her all the fuzzies went to Walmart. She loved that idea, but still was afraid to death to get in. Well, I ended up sitting in there with her and she was on my lap. I'm still at lost what to do. I don't know if I should just give her showers? I just feel like she's to small for the shower. The water always hits her in the eyes or something. I don't know. Tonight is bath night again, so I guess we will try again. I just really hope this doesn't mean she's afraid of water will not want to go in a swimming pool. That will be the worst thing. Dave and I LOVE the water and anything to do with swimmiong and stuff. We got a while till summer so I hope she gets out of this soon.

Oh yeah, I had an interview at Kohl's yesterday. It's by no means a career move, but it's something that will work out with Dave's schedule to work part time in the evenings. We just need some extra money and I think this will do the trick. I would like to start my career but right now I can't do that. I cant' fathom paying for daycare. It's way to expensive. I love staying home with Haley to, but I need to get out of the house and have some me time. I love Kohl's, and my friend Kim works there to. So, if I get the job, it will be a lot of fun to work and shop haha. Wish me luck :)

This one's for Aunt Gina :)

My friend Gina, who we called "Aunt Gina" to Haley got this cute shirt for her for Valetine's Day. I wasn't able to get a good picture of her in it on Valentine's Day, so here it is now! Haley say's, Thanks again, Aunt Gina :)

Princess Hair

Lindsay got Haley a couple of things for Easter before they left for Ohio for two weeks. Well, one was a little purse with cute little hair bows in it. I put two of the clips in Haley's hair and twisted the sides. She called it her "princess hair." I thought it looked so cute. She didn't keep it in very long though. I love that #1 she hair and #2 it's long enough and there is enough of it to do fun things with now. I tried a french braid a couple of months ago will probably try again.

Update on Bath situation

Okay, well I took Scott's advice (don't be so surprised Scott :) ), and decided to just wash out Haley's bathtub while she was standing there. That is how I got her upstairs to take a bath. I told her she was going to help clean out her tub. Go figure it worked getting her up there. Well, I clean it all out and show her there is nothing in there. Earlier in the day, she told me she was afraid of hair and fuzzies in the bathtub. Well, it turns out that she is deathly afraid of sock fuzzies! After the bath was already, Dave put her in the bathtub and she started freaking out. She had sock fuzzies on her feet from her black socks. They got in her bathtub. So, we cleaned the bathtub again to get the "sock fuzzies" out. She wouldn't go in the bathtub again. Dave mentioned taking a shower and she wouldn't let up on it. So, I gave her a shower in our bathroom. It was an exhausting evening to say the least. I think we'll try again with the bath tonight. I just don't want this to be a real thing ya know? She needs to take bath's she's only 2! I'll keep everyone updated :)

Bath

Okay, I have been having a problem with Haley and her bath the last two times I went to give her one. On Saturday, she was in the bath water and all bathed, all of the sudden she started to cry like she was scared. I have no idea what happened. Today, I ran the water put her in the bath and then she started to freak out again. I have no idea what is going on. I didn't even get a chance to bath her this time. I had some soap on her and she pretty much clung to me. She wouldn't go back in the bath. I emptied the water out and everything. I asked her what is scaring her and she says hair in the bath tub. I don't even see any hair. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I don't know why all of a sudden she has a fear of the bathtub. I'm going to wait for Dave to come home and give her bath tonight and see if she freaks out with him. It was just very weird. I think I'll just clean out the tub really well while she is napping today and then see if that works. Has anyone heard of toddlers being scared of things all of a sudden? I guess it happens. Okay, if anyone has any feedback please let me know. Thanks!!

Funny video

I watched Emily the other day while Lindsay went to the dr. Here is a little video I took of them being their crazy selves!

Having fun

Hortant Hears a Who

Continue on from our fun long day..We took Haley to see her very first movie at the movie theater. Dave had won free movie tickets about 3 years ago haha. So, I had found them recently and kept saying I really want to go the movies. So, we decided to take Haley to the new Hortant movie. We got popcorn and drinks. Haley did great! She sat in her little seat for most of the movie. She didn't weigh enough to keep the seat down. She ate popcorn and sipped out of my drink. She loved the movie. She got a little bit wiggley toward the end of the movie. I thought I didn't have my camera to take a picture so I didn't take one. But, I did! It was in my purse and didn't know it. So, no pictures of her at the movies. But, I do defintely recommend that movie for anyone who wants to try taking their toddler to the movies for the first time. It's cute, funny and has some great named voices in it. Jim Carey did great as Hortant. Carrol Burnet is the voice of the kangeroo and Steve Carowl (sp) is the mayor. Two thumbs up movie! Best part was that Haley was free :0) They are free till they are 3. I asked so I will know for next time.

Long Fun Day!

Yesterday was a very spur of the moment fun day. I had called my neighbor and friend Michelle to see if she wanted to go walking with me in the morning. She called me back and wanted to know if I wanted to go to the Aquarium with her and her son Tommy. She has a season family pass with free guest passes. I said sure! So, we went to the VB Aquarium with her and Tommy. It was a lot of fun. They have two separate buildings and I had never been to the smaller of the two buildings. So, we met at the smaller one. We saw frogs, turtles, sea horses, fish, snakes etc. Haley loved them all. My favorite were the sea horses and this one fish that had puckery lips. I have a picture of it towards the end of the post. We saw the river otters, but they were sleeping. We headed outside and went in the bird place. They had turkeys, pelicans, wood peckers, cardinals, vultures etc. Haley loved them to. Out of the little buidling her favorite were the fish and the snakes. Don't ask me why!! hehe. She always looks for snakes and spiders when we go to get the mail and we walk through the rainforest. We walked to the bigger building on a cool wood path. It was a nice mile or so walk to the bigger building. There were the sharks, more fish, eels and sting rays. There were a million and one kids there. Alot of the field trips go there so we just happened to hit one. So, we didn't spend much time at that one. I loved the walk though. It was pretty in the woods. So, we took our time walking back in the trails. Haley wanted to walk like Tommy so they both would walk infront of us. Tommy is 4 and a boy, so he was trying to get into things. Haley was trying to follow him haha. I had to keep reminding her to walk on the path not in the grass. They got along so well! I love Michelle to. I didn't get a picture of her and I feel bad. The one I did her eyes were closed. She helped me out this fall/winter with my mouse problem. It's always nice to have a great nieghbor and friend around. Along with Tommy, she has three other kids ranging from 6 to 11. I don't know how she does it! Overall, the day was super fun. I'm so glad she invited us.

This is an albino aligator. I heard they are really rare. I thought it was pretty cool. The other picture is of aligator and crocodile purses.

This one is my favorite fish. Doesn't he look like he's posing and puckering his lips for the camera?

These turtles were so active. They were so cute playing with each other!

Priceless

Not to often do you get this kind of picture of your almost two and half year old and your husband. Haley woke up from her nap crying and very distraught. I'm not sure if she had a bad dream or what. She came downstairs with Dave and just laid with him and fell back asleep. It was so precious. I was worried something was wrong, but she is fine. She woke up when Dave was talking loud. Then wanted me to hold her for a while. She's getting so big it's hard to hold her like she wanted me to. She's growing so fast and defintely not a baby anymore. "Tear" :(

Mr. Potatohead Fun!

Haley and I played Mr. Potatohead after her nap the other day. Daddy was sleeping on the couch, so we were entertaining ourselves. We made a baby one, a grandma one and a daddy one. She insisted I take a picture of her with them. I think she is getting the hand of it. Whenever she does something cute, I take a picture of it haha.

Attack of the killer birds!

My bright idea was to feed the ducks our old bread, chips and cookies. I was cleaning out our pantry closet. So, after Haley's nap we opened up our gate and I had her throw some of the bread. The ducks and sea gulls swarmed us! It was pretty funny and kind of scary. It was crazy! Haley got scared and ran into the gate. I didn't realize she did that and then I looked down and Jersey was outside of the gate with me instead of Haley haha. She was just standing there watching the whole scene. I looked and some other ducks from who knows where were running as fast as they could to get there bread. It was a very crazy scene.

Date Night Saturday

Saturday Dave and I were talking about how we really never do anything. It's not for lack of wanting to but for lack of money, babysitter, and money to pay for a babysitter. We are like most people are age I guess, struggle to make it and wanting to be ahead at some point in our lives and trying to provide for our daughter and make sure she has everything. Well, Saturday we decided to have some fun. We decided to take Haley on a date. :) I got dressed up and got Haley all dressed up in her dress ( 1 of 3 that fit her) that Heidi got her for her birthday and we all went to Applebee's. It was delicious as always. We went all out on our meals. We got an appetizer sampler and steaks. YUM! Haley didn't eat anything but a few french fries, but she was an angel while we were there. Except when I patted her on the butt and realized she didn't tell me she pooped! So, I had to take her to change her. She got out of the booth and turned to our waitress and told her she "poop pooped", and then preceded to keep saying it until we got to the bathroom. In the bathroom they have the changing tables ya know, but she is so big now for it. So, I had to change a poop diaper standing up haha. It was tricky but since I'm an experienced diaper changer I got it done in a flash. Times like those though, I REALLY wish she would start using the potty. (NO progress, but I'm not actively trying right now. ) So after the diaper changing episode we went back and finished our meal. We decided to see if the new Best Buy was opening in our brand new shopping center next to Kohl's. It wasn't, not till March 28th. I am going to love this shopping center. It has Kohl's, Best Buy, BW3's and AC Moores! I can't wait to check them all out. Kohl's is already open though and I have been there more then a handful of times :) So, after that we went to Target and we walked around looking at stuff. I wanted to find something for Haley for Easter. My plan was to get little things for her Easter basket. I found a few things and then we looked at books and toys. She corerced her dad into getting her a Dora Ball. She wanted it sooooo bad haha. So, we get in the car and she's holding it. We aren't even out of the parking space yet and she dropped it in the van somewhere. It was dark so we couldn't find it till we got home. So, she ate her french fries on the way home. We watched a movie when we got home "Are We Done Yet?" In my opinion it was VERY VERY NOT FUNNY. "Are We There Yet?" was so funny! This was a horrible movie and we taped it with our new DVD recorder he got me for Valentines/ Christmas present. What a waste of a DVD. We put Haley to bed and then starteded our own date. We watched "Monster House." hehe. It was a funnier movie then "Are we Done Yet?" We had a fun evening and defintely want to take Haley on a date again.

Fun at the park with Daddy and Mommy

Tuesday was a really warm day. We had like 74 degree weather, but rather windy. We took Haley up to our favorite playground park. She swang, slide and played with Daddy on the jungle gym. She loves when Daddy plays with her on the jungle gym. She gets a kick out of him trying to do that stuff. He's a big kid. The one picture of him falling is him going really high on the swing and jumping off. I should of video taped it but took the picture instead. Haley met a little boy that was the same age as her at the park that day to. He was about a week or two older then her, but he was so little! He was adorable though. He kept saying come on to Haley and putting his arm around her back. It was so hilarious. His mom was like "I'm sorry!" I was like no no, it's hilarious!! I said it's already starting Haley playing with boys, next she'll want to date! I'm not ready for that stuff yet. The kids were swinging and repeating whatever each other said. The mom ( I didn't get her name) had 5 kids and she looked barely 30. I hope I look that good at 30. It was a really fun day. We cooked out on the gril that afternoon for dinner. I like when Dave is off. I wish he didn't have to work :) haha. Well, that means I would have to though, not sure how I feel about haha.

Yesterday, I started babysitting at Marna's church for her Women's Bible Study people. It's a paid position for 2 1/2 hours I watch the toddler to 4 year olds, and then the homeschoolers. I have a teenage assistant named Winter. I was a little overwhelmed at first, but it seemed like it will be okay. Marna called me up on Sunday and asked if I would be interested. I am able to take Haley and everything. Haley had a good time. The homeschoolers got a little rowdy kicked a ball and hit Haley in the back of the head. I know it was an accident but it still scared me. Her little friend Abigail was there so they were able to play together. She danced to church music and had snack time. Overall, it was nice. Winter handled everything great. She is a really mature teenager. I didn't see her goof off or anything. I asked her if she ever babysat and she said all the time. We might of found ourselves a babysitter :) Marna had told me about her before and she comes with good references. I'm so glad I got to meet her and see for myself. Dave wants to meet her to. It would be nice to go out for dinner without Haley or to a movie and enjoy one on on time with my husband every once in a while.
